This is a lovely gem of a japanese restaurant located up Promontory. The food is consistently cooked the same each visit and beautifully presented.

We love getting a specialty roll along with a dinner box to share. Portions are large, flavorful and filling. Everything is cooked fresh to order. You won’t be disappointed.

We have been to many sushi places around Abbotsford and Chilliwack over the years, but after coming to Sushiwa it has not entered our minds to go anywhere else.

Just to mention, they are now offering all you can eat option again, which is very popular amongst the other guests when we are there. We have not tried it yet, but will be back soon!

The sushi was fresh and really good overall. Everything tasted clean, and nothing felt off or overly fishy. The rice and fish were balanced well, and it was easy to enjoy every bite. As a person who came for over 8 years I’m still impressed!

Went in last night for dinner and was instantly put off and it did not get any better. Walked in and the girl at the front just stared at the two of us, no smile, no hello, no anything. We finally said “for 2?” and was then responded with “sit wherever you want”. Rude but thinking, alright there are only 3 tables in the restaurant and they are already eating, this won’t take long. WRONG.
Sat down, couple of minutes later she brings over menus and says she’ll be right back. Wait almost 10 minutes from that point. Ready to order. She never even came back to take a drink order. Two of the tables had left to pay so gave her some slack that she was busy. But instead of coming over to take order or clean the tables that left, she just stood at the front staring out the window.
Left for another sushi place. Had a bad experience here a few years ago and thought we’d try again. It had not gotten better but worse. Sad since it is only a 5 minute walk from our home. Won’t be returning

Great little sushi spot with a really great view!
It’s a very relaxed space with a big view over the valley. Very busy with pick up and delivery orders it seemed but not too busy indoors. Service was great and the sushi was great. Rice quality & freshness of the ingredients was all great!
They have quite a few vegetarian & vegan options and Black Rice as well.

I ate here yesterday with my husband the food was not very good the food seemed like old hard to explain not fresh tasting. The rice seemed leftover and not good I couldn’t eat the noodles it tasted very chemically. And today both me and my husband are very very ill and only thing different we ate was here and we are both sick with food poisoning symptoms from this place. The price is quite expensive as well and service was slow felt ignored and like it took forever to get someone to take our order. Do not recommend.

We stopped by tonight and the food was very good with generous portions. I was impressed by the sushi and sashimi – the raw fish was as good as some of the best I’ve had in the Vancouver area. The special roll (Double Crunch) was also big and delicious, and both the yakisoba and the yakiudon (for the kids) were tasty and generously served.

We didn’t take the all-you-can-eat option, but it’s nice to know it’s available.

It’s probably on the expensive side, and if the fish hadn’t been this good—like some other reviews mentioned—I might have felt differently about the price. But tonight the quality and portion sizes fully justified it. Since getting top-quality fish can be challenging in the interior, the restaurant might consider adjusting prices on days when the fish isn’t at its best, or even limiting the selection slightly to ensure the fish served is always at the same excellent level we had tonight.

Second time in this restaurant. We tried the all you can eat (ish) this time. There are good options in the menu, but we felt ripped off as they limited the quantities of multiple items and the portions are reduced compared with the à la carte menu. The sashimis are a third of the size and thin like a carpaccio.

The food was amazing I recommend the tuna roll with cream cheese it was delicious and so fresh also the service was perfect I ordered with my brother he got a cucumber roll and our food took 10 minutes which is insanely fast for 2 rolls and our server was very nice and the atmosphere was crazy good they had a fake blossom tree in the middle that really pulled the look together along with the other things in the atmosphere that looked cool and there was a themed tip jar from spirited away that I thought was very cool I would 100% come again in fact this food was so good that I think I will come again next week

Came in at 6pm on a non busy night with only two other tables of 4 and one of 2 in the whole restaraunt. My wife and I were sat down at a table by the waitress and then we never saw her again. Sat there for 17 minutes and watched her serve all three of the other tables multiple times before we just walked out without even being asked a drink order or given menus.

I’m not a review writer by any means, so this is unusual for me, however I felt inclined to. I’ve never been to the restaurant in person so I can’t speak to service etc, only done take out so I can’t speak to anything but the food and price. I do have to say that we probably won’t be ordering from here again. The sushi is decent, better than I could make myself so I won’t complain about that, however, the size of the roles are very small for the price. I’m basing this off the other sushi places in Chilliwack we often order from. Our order was $75, the spicy tuna rolls are about 3/4 the size of all other places, but the same price. I ordered a beef roll, which is 10 bucks, and considered a large roll, and I’ve attached a photo of the size of the pieces. 6 pieces this size for 10 bucks. I ordered this roll from others and given it’s a beef roll you usually get some bang for your buck. But this order was shockingly small. Ordered for 4 and pretty sure the total amount of food was about what I would order for myself. We’ve had this with them a few times and we’ve tried them a few times to give them another chance, but I honestly feel like I just gave my money away. If the rolls were outrageously good, I would understand the price for the size, but given the sushi is pretty average, and I would hope to get some more for my money. Again, I have no skin in the game, but when you compare the size of the rolls and quality to Gon Sushi, it’s apples to oranges. That being said, if other restaurants can give you at least some bang for your buck, I would think these guys can too. Alright, that’s all, just figured I’d give others some input should they be looking for some info.
