The inside is very clean and well kept. The only reason I gave it three stars, is because it seemed as though the designer could not decide between a Victorian chandelier-esque vibe and industrial. It doesn’t really take away from the experience though .
With blacked out windows, The feel inside the restaurant is very intimate. I almost forgot that it was broad daylight when I ate there.
The sushi is on point here. Very well prepared and the presentation was nice. The waitress was very friendly. The sushi chef as well.
The price is on the moderate high side for their specialty rolls. However, if you’re in for a quick California roll or something basic like that, at just under $7 a roll, the price can’t be beat for the quality.
I will be going here again. And, anybody who enjoys sushi should as well.
It seems that any rolls wrapped in cucumber (e.g., the Tropical Roll) don’t include rice, which wasn’t clearly stated on the menu and should be clarified. While the rolls were beautifully put together, they were difficult to pick up with chopsticks since there’s no rice to hold everything together.
Service was very slow. The waitress was polite but seemed new—she looked surprised and a bit confused when I asked for utensils to eat the sushi that had just been served.
Overall, the food quality didn’t justify the high prices. Hope the restaurant can improve.
Now, here’s why I gave less stars: the teriyaki sauce was extremely salty, the gyoza was over cooked, the spicy salmon roll was mistakenly replaced with a filled of teriyaki salmon (which was also way over cooked & kind of burnt), the tofu in the miso soup was mushy. Also, the women’s restroom was not well maintained & both stalls were out of seat covers.
They are short staffed, as posted on the door when you walk in & I realize that their specialty is sushi rolls, not the other stuff. With that in mind, I’m willing give it another shot in the future. The waitress was nice & tentative, the pricing was fair, & the music great (something my 35 y/o husband, my 12 y/o daughter & myself could enjoy together).
As an update to this post, if I could give 6 stars I would. The ambiance, layout and design are very traditional with a modern twist. Also as being on the Keto diet lately, they were more than accommodating with not only providing me with what I wanted, but also additional items that I didn’t know would fit my diet! Easily one of my best experiences at a sushi restaurant.
