Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience, especially given the strong reviews and higher price point.
We ordered the chef’s choice special for two, which included an 8-piece nigiri and a special roll. The nigiri was genuinely bad—each piece had strange sauces on top that completely overpowered the fish, and the rice was cold and flavorless, which is pretty unforgivable for sushi.
The special rolls were even worse. It came topped with lemon wedges on one and the other had lettuce inside, making it completely unbalanced and honestly inedible. The flavors did not work at all and felt very far from what you’d expect at this price level.
To make matters worse, the service was extremely poor. We practically had to beg to be served, and the waiter was very odd—aloof, disengaged, and inattentive throughout the meal.
Given the reputation, reviews, and cost, I was shocked by how subpar the entire experience was. Not worth the price, and I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

Artisanal sushi: all our favorites but beautifully garnished. We particularly enjoyed the Yellowtail Jalapeño, which came with crispy Jalapeño chips, the Chef’s Choice 6-piece Nigiri, which was perfectly garnished and didn’t need soy sauce, and the North Side Roll (top row of my sushi platter picture). Service was attentive and we’ll be coming back!

Delicious “West Coast style” nigiri sushi, with creative flavor mashups crowning each piece. The octopus and shrimp salad gets special mention. It’s a bright and delicious flavor offset to the truffle oil on the sushi.

Very electric modern take on sushi than traditional. Thoroughly enjoyed creative garnish on maki rolls, but wished the nigiris we tried were more on the traditional side as the garnishing was a bit overpowering to my liking and could not enjoy the delicate fish taste.
Very simple clean deco, and the owner chef Alex came over to greet us, making sure we were being taken care of, which you hardly ever see at restaurants.
Surprised they do not have menu, but give you a paper menu with a pencil to check off order , like fast food sushi chains.. make sure you check off the right item as we checked off the wrong row, LOL.

This is such a hidden gem!
It’s not a fancy place, but everything is just right and well thought of. Great background music, but you can still have a conversation. Wonderful service and the food is just Devine. Such special and creative taste combinations, every bite is a celebration in the mouth. I highly recommend this wonderful establishment! Try one of the fish tacos and the chef’s plate.

If you are looking for traditional Japanese sushi, this is not your place. To me, the sushi was more about the appearance than the freshness and flavor. And a bizarre mix of flavors. The basil on one of the rolls just completely overpowered the whole roll, for example. And the lemon with rind on sushi? Maybe some people like that, but I felt as far away from Tokyo as I was sitting (half way around the globe). And my $17 yuzu margarita was bland and uninspired — in a cheap lemonade style glass with no garnish and no pizazz. Overall, for the price, I was expecting much more upscale. Spent $420 on dinner for 5, with everyone agreeing that we have no need to come back. On the plus side the waitstaff was nice, (although they politely let us know that they would appreciate it if we would leave so that they could close up early since the restaurant was almost empty). Had been looking forward to trying this place and was sorely disappointed.

Did takeout from here tonight after eating multiple times before with no issues. I don’t know if it was just a bad night but honestly the sushi was horrible. We got simple stuff but to start the rolls weren’t even rolled – they were falling apart. Second, we got avocado rolls for my son and the avocado was rotten – nothing worse than bad avocado – couldn’t eat it. The cucumber also was brown and kind of gross. The salmon had a weird taste. Anyway not great food tonight. After spending $100 at a very expensive restaurant it was disappointing.

Sushi was very good but the appetizers are really impressive. The yellowtail Jalapeño appetizer and king salmon tacos are fantastic. We also ordered the sushi for 2 (option 2). Large enough to share comes with Nagiri and 2 sets of special maki rolls.
