Was in the area for a meeting, so tried new place. I was a little shocked of the location in an almost empty “shopping mall” But there were two other tables with groups of people already there.
We ordered off of the lunch specials and got Yo Ramen; bento box w/teriyaki salmon, chicken katsu, salad, rice and miso soup; and an order of lemon salmon roll – the latter was also on the lunch special menu (two other rolls available on the lunch menu.) The Ramen noodles were good, broth not salty enough. The teriyaki salmon was dry, even topped with teriyaki sauce. The side salad was good. The miso soup was tasty – tasted fresh and not instant. But the chicken katsu was really good – what did they use for the batter to keep it crispy and crunchy even afterwards??? The lemon salmon roll was also great – mild lemon flavor also in the cream/mayo? sauce – california roll topped with raw salmon and lemon. Would like to try more sushi next time, although between the two of us, we only consumed half of our food there and took the rest home for a yummy dinner.

Fresh space, familiar taste, but service falls behind.

My husband and I have been fans of Sushi Yo since their old Fulton Ave location, so we were excited to visit their new Arden spot during the soft opening. The inside is beautiful. The menu is similar to the old one, and prices are on the higher end with rolls starting at $15, bento boxes at $23, and ramen at $20.

Understandably, it’s a soft opening, but it was clear that they were understaffed. There was only one server trying to handle multiple tables, one sushi chef making all the rolls, and probably one cook in the back which led to a frustrating delay in service. We arrived right when they opened, but still waited about 30-40 minutes for our food to arrive. We ordered the JD roll, a bento box, bluefin belly, amaebi, and ramen. The blue fin belly was disappointing. At $16 for two pieces (market price), we expected the melt-in-your-mouth texture we’ve had at other places, but it just didn’t deliver. Aside from that, everything tasted great. But the long wait made the overall experience feel less enjoyable.

The server and owner were both apologetic, which we appreciated, and it’s clear they’re trying their best to get things up and running smoothly. We’re hopeful that once they have more staff and have worked out the kinks, we’ll be able to enjoy the great food we know and love without the service hiccups.

First time here and so far, everything was great! I have a pretty high standard since I have allergies to seafood and can only really eat rolls that are veggie based or with other added meat inside. I got the Deep Fried (D.F.) Veggie roll and it was amazing! Haven’t had something like it exactly anywhere else. Loved the setting, very modern and clean. I also appreciated that even the center nature pieces are real and not fake. Service was satisfactory! 10/10 recommend

You cannot understand the level of service I had at this new-ish amazing, family-run, sushi restaurant that I lucked into on a random slow night. No one deserves your money more than these people. The coldest beer in frosted glasses – yes, great Japanese whiskey selection – yes, the kindest people running the place – yes! I am absolutely making this a neighborhood hangout as long as they’ll have me.

Had to try the new sushi spot in Arden Way. Freshest sushi I’ve ever had. I’m used to AYCE sushi but this is different.

I had their Wagyu Roll and The Reader and my wife get the Arden Oak and the Summer Night. Both were fantastic!

Thanks to Tandy and Natalie for bringing your place to our neighborhood. Also, Love David at the bar, they have a variety of option from your traditional old fashion to house cocktail and specialties. Will come back.

Super nice owner and staff, they were welcoming from the get go and attentive! We love the spicy garlic edamame. We tried the Hamachi, Lemon Salmon 5, and Crunzilla rolls. All of them were great and we would get them all again! Can’t wait to come back when the weather is good enough for the patio.

May 29 was the first time trying Sushi Yo! It didn’t disappoint. My friend and I enjoyed the Orange Blossom and Larry’s Luau, both delicious! Fresh tasting. We’re going back for seconds this coming weekend!

We were visiting Sacramento, and decided to try out this new sushi restaurant. The fish is really high quality, a cut above the typical sushi restaurant. We had the hamachi carpaccio sprinkled with fish roe, which was phenomenal. We then had the wagyu roll, which features A5 wagyu beef. This is a unique blend of delicate savory flavors with typical a typical sushi roll. We had an Arden Oaks roll, which has real snow crab meat and is topped with half a lobster tail! The food was all phenomenal, the service friendly, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. This is a good restaurant!
