Absolutely outstanding sushi! I ordered the Volcano Roll and Diablo Roll, and both were bursting with flavour and incredibly fresh. Every bite was perfectly balanced, from the textures to the sauces, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. The rolls were made with so much care and tasted just as good (if not better!) than dine-in sushi. This is hands down the best sushi takeout I’ve had in a while and will definitely be ordering again and recommending to everyone!

The best mom and pop shop around for fish and chips and also sushi. We love it here. The sign says it all….it’s authentic on top all the extra condiments, owner gave me a cutting if a leaf from a plant. They’ve been there for almost 30 years.

The indoor space is quite small and cozy, so it may feel a bit cramped during busy hours. The sushi was decent, though not as fresh as I had hoped—it lacked that vibrant texture and taste you expect from top-quality sushi. That said, the presentation was beautiful, and the attention to detail was evident in every dish. Service was prompt, polite, and professional, which definitely added to the overall experience. While the food didn’t completely wow me, the atmosphere and friendly staff made it a pleasant visit.

They tried to scam me. I called to order for takeout and I and the woman on the line repeated the order at least 2 times and everything was right and she said $40. Then she called back 5 mins later to confirm she had the order right and once again we both verbally confirmed what I ordered. I showed up and the tried to charge me $60. I said that wasn’t right, the woman said $40 and with what I ordered $40 made sense. The woman was very rude to me and said is this my order or not. I carefully read the receipt and noticed they added tempora which at no point was that ever mentioned. Once she took it off (with attitude) it was $40 as originally discussed. And there was no tempora in the bag btw, I don’t know if they quickly took it out or it was never there. It’s a shame I had such a bad experience my first and probably last time there as the sushi was actually good. That’s why I have this at least 2 stars. Be careful when paying! They expect u to quickly tap and not check clearly.

Terrible service from start to finish. Our food was dropped at the wrong table. We later pointed it out after half of us already started eating, and the table next to us even apologized because they had already started eating food they didn’t order. The staff took a long time to retrieve the food, brought it back to the kitchen, then a few minutes later returned with the same plates and served them to us anyway, with one piece missing.
No one checked whether the food had been touched or tampered with. They just served it like nothing happened. When we called it out, we had to wait again for a remake, and honestly, there’s no way to know if it was actually remade.
What made it worse: no apology, no manager check-in, and no effort to fix the situation. Water took forever, and we even had to ask for something just to pour soy sauce into.
We paid full price and still tipped because I saw previous reviews saying staff got rude over tips. That should have been my warning sign. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I had the pleasure of discovering Sushi-YA, a delightful Japanese sushi restaurant nestled in the heart of downtown Milton. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the friendly staff and immediately felt at ease in the clean and inviting atmosphere. The sushi surpassed all of my expectations – each piece was made with fresh, high-quality ingredients that truly highlighted the skill and expertise of the chefs. I found myself savoring every bite, and I can confidently say that it was some of the best sushi I have ever tasted. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Sushi-YA, as this experience has left a lasting impression on me.

The quality is definitely superior to AYCE and the price reflects that. It’s not great for large groups inside but the outside patio can accommodate it. Inside, 4 people can sit comfortably. Service is fast. Presentation is good. They refill water diligently. My only feedback is I hadn’t even finished chewing my last bite that the server came and asked to take my plate away and bring the bill. Like I was still chewing my food while paying. Give me a minute!
