The appetizers (edamame and tataki) really set the bar high and then my spicy salmon roll comes out looking like this. What kind of sushi place makes rolls with no fish, not to mention the roll itself is made incorrectly. The issue was fixed but idk how this is even acceptable to send out to a table in the first place. The hostess was also pretty hostile to a homeless person who came around asking for money. Highly overrated place, not coming back here

I can’t say much about the atmosphere, but if it’s as good as their food- it’s 5 stars!
We got our order delivered- it was at our hotel room within 45 minutes. We tried most of the specialty rolls and some of their sides- the poison ivy being a standout roll and the fried rice being a favorite side.
The sandlot salad was a close runner up for sides, the mix of greens and dressing was refreshing and delicious. The cool running cucumber salad was good, but not like the aforementioned.
I would order all of these rolls again- blood moon, sunny d, Miami vice, and their California roll!
The nigiri was fresh and a great complement to our meal.
We appreciated how they labeled our order, making it easy to decipher which roll we were eating. Highly recommend!

I have really mixed feelings about how to rate them. We arrived and was asked if we wanted the bar or a table. Opting for a table we were seated at the counter looking out the window. Not bad, as it offered great people watching, but I thought we would be given a table.
The atmosphere is cute, upbeat and open. There’s a big bar inside and tables inside and out.
What we ordered –
Terminator (Tuna) Tataki – I’ve seen pics on line and what we got didn’t look as robust. Still a pretty presentation though. It was an interesting blend of flavors. I thought the ponzu (citrus) flavor was a little overwhelming. That, along with the blend of spices it was seared with, didn’t quite hit my palette right.
CA Roll – Classic and fresh.
New Jack Nigiri – we got half salmon and half tuna. The pieces of fish were a generous portion. The Salmon was great and fatty so it almost dissolved in your mouth. But the tuna, really had no flavor to it
Service was okay, people were friendly, but we were never given small plates with our rolls (maybe it’s standard?) nor napkins.
I would definitely give it another try as they offered some unique options.
Bathroom:
-Clean: Yes
-Bonus features: Lotion is offered, there is a little shelf above the TP (perfect in case you need a spot to place say your phone or glasses), a few hooks available
-Add’l notes: There is a single use men’s and single use women’s bathroom. The women’s is a good size. I will say the mirror is a bit high, so if you’re on the shorter side it’s of no use.

Excellent sushi place. Rolls are cheaper than most of other places, but also smaller. I would suggest to get an extra roll. Excellent service as well and dog friendly if you sit outside.

This is the perfect addition to Virginia Beach! The sushi was great. The staff was so friendly and the atmosphere was fun! They have a great patio to sit outside and a nice bar and table inside! They were very busy when we went there, so our waitress gave us sake on the house as a thank you for being patient! That felt like above and beyond service in this day and age! The sushi was great, and very reasonably priced! They were very cognizant of allergies at the table, which was greatly appreciated. I will be going back!

First time trying this place and wasn’t impressed. My friend and I both got a cocktail and it tasted like it barely had any alcohol. The fish was really thin on the nigiri. The soup of the day was delicious. They only had cheesecake for dessert and it was more like a yogurt parfait in a plastic cup. The atmosphere was fun for a young crowd and the service was good.

We had a five-star experience at Sushi Vice tonight. Lots of great sushi but my favorite elegant dish was salmon marinated in a special soy sauce topped with lightly shredded veggies and roe (like caviar) accompanied by sushi rice with a duck egg. Chef’s special! It was so delicious I closed my eyes whenever I put the bike in my mouth, and just enjoyed the flavor. Our server, Kelly, was sparkly and attentive and full of personality. We are from out of state but if I lived here it would be my regular favorite!

1st experience at Sushi Vice was awesome! It was packed so bar seating was the answer! The service operation was a well-oiled machine with a friendly vibe. Everyone was doing their thing, cooking, prepping, cutting, serving…I loved it!

The sushi portions were small by comparison to other restaurants in the area. Also, the menu lacked variety as tuna is used in the majority of the dishes with crab and shrimp coming as alternatives. The flavors were conflicting – either the citrus almost vinegary taste was too forward or I got hint a spice. I don’t remember saying— ‘this is good’ while I ate.
The cocktails used majority Waterman’s products and were basically the same as any VB OF bar – a lot of soda water and ice. I had high hopes walking in but was disappointed with my experience walking out.
If I could give this place a 2.5 I would.
