Reviews
During our recent visit, we were treated in a manner that was both unprofessional and disrespectful by the manager, who was also acting as the host. From the moment we arrived, the tone and attitude directed toward us were inappropriate and lacked basic customer service standards. The situation escalated to the point where we were asked to leave the restaurant and were told not to return.
Being asked to leave an establishment without justifiable cause is extremely embarrassing and unacceptable, especially from someone in a management position. As paying customers, we expected to be treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism.
This experience was shameful and deeply disappointing. I strongly urge upper management or corporate leadership to review this matter seriously, as no customer should ever be made to feel humiliated or unwelcome in your establishment.
I hope this issue is addressed promptly to ensure that future guests do not experience similar treatment.
I’ve been several times and consistency is key. The fish always tastes fresh, and the sushi chefs really know how to put on a good show. I definitely recommend the Bobby salad a spectacular way to start and wow, I was very surprised by the La Jefa roll and the Divorce roll; they are incredibly delicious! Thanks to Neysi for being so helpful; you have a great team. I love this place and I recommend it, they are on fire, super delicious!
First let me say that I live in the area and I have ordered take out a couple times from this restaurant, through UberEats. Overall, the food has been acceptable. However, I have dined at several Sushi Sake’s in Miami and the Cutler Bay location food quality is not the greatest.
As a side hustle, I deliver food through an app delivery service. I’ve been doing this for over a year and overall the experience with other merchants has been a positive one. Most merchants have a designated area where you pick up deliveries and/or sometimes they place the delivery on a table or a shelf for the driver to pick up. Usually, in these type of situations I look at the receipt on the bag and if I identify that the delivery is mine, I will ask an employee if it’s ok to take the delivery, and I will show them the app where it states the customers name. Most merchants do this to help move things along, specially during busy times.
I accepted a delivery from Sushi Sake, Cutler Bay. I arrived, entered the restaurant and instantly realized it was a busy night. There were a lot of drivers waiting for orders. Right when I walked in, there was a bag sitting on a table, right by the entrance. The bag had the receipt facing away from me, so I gently turned the bag around, I didn’t even pick it up from the table, to look at the receipt to see if it belong to my customer. That’s when a restaurant employee who was working as a hostess and waitress came towards me screaming , “Do not touch my bags, that doesn’t belong to you” I was in shock at how aggressive and angry she looked, so I just looked at her without saying anything. That’s when she screamed again, but this time in Spanish. This time I responded in English “I understand what you’re saying, I’m picking up a delivery and I’m just checking if that is my customer” Her response, with a visibly aggressive face and screaming, “I don’t care, don’t touch my bags”, I responded to her “You are being extremely rude”, her response “I don’t care, cancel the delivery, if you want”. I of course was not going to cancel the delivery, because that would delay the customers order and I had never cancelled a delivery that I was in the middle of working. She then went straight to the computer and gave me a negative review on the delivery app.
If you look at a previous review on here, from another delivery driver, it seems this is not an isolated incident. This aggressive behavior is a pattern at this restaurant. All you have to do is analyze the restaurants response to the review. In the response it states “the bathroom is only for paying customers”. The delivery driver who is assigned to deliver your food, to your customer, is at that moment an extension of the restaurants transaction. The driver is working with the restaurant to make sure the order gets to the customer on time and as expected. To tell a driver that they can’t use your bathroom is telling them, that you believe, they are beneath you. Additionally, it shows that you don’t see them as part of a team effort, that is working towards providing the best customer service to your customers. This is appalling for a business whose main goal should be striving for perfect customer service.
We are all out there trying to survive, in a very difficult economy. Some of us working two or three jobs to support our families. For a restaurant to treat delivery drivers like trash is unacceptable, not only to the driver but to your customers who are depending on the driver, who is handling your food and hoping for a quick and smooth transaction.
I won’t ever again set foot in this establishment, neither as a delivery driver or paying customer, but it’s obvious they don’t care. You, as a customer, shouldn’t either.
