A symphony for your taste buds – you won’t regret this place. The combination of chosen ingredients and flavors are out of this world. Pair it with some sake or local brew beer and your in for a treat. The staff are amazing and the atmosphere is very chill. Worth every penny!

Firstly, food came to your table very fast. Food is amazingly tasty! Fish is caught on the day, all ingredients are fresh. and all People are nice, like your family. Two or three people came to ask if any help needed. Service is very good. Make a reservation a day before. They are fairly busy. We three got a table on the outside by luck.

We tried one of the chefs choice platters. Everything was okay but not great. It was a little disappointing. We also tried the sweet potato cheesecake and found it to be pretty good. Overall they had creative dishes, but we didn’t think the taste was anything special.

Good sushi. Fresh and friendly service. During peak time it can be slow. Still worth the wait. So on thing I would say. The place needs a deep clean…

Best sushi I have ever tasted! Don’t miss this stop! Friendly staff! Delicious drinks! The atmosphere is simple. Indoor or outdoor seating. But it’s expensive! 2 appetizers and drinks were $70. Well worth the price if you want quality!

Came here on a recommendation from a fellow mainlander for the purple sweet potato cheesecake. It was definitely unique. Not to die for (nothing really is) but worth driving out of the way for. Service was nice. I can’t speak for the other food or drink. Aloha!

Our family is from Seattle, and no matter who is on the Island visiting, we make it a point to eat at Sushi Rock during our stay…usually mutiple times. We love this place! Talk about Local, fresh, thoughtful, and sustainable…and GOOOOOOOODDDDD. The food is amazing, no matter what you get, and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. Fave rolls are definitely Captain Crunch, and then it’s hard to choose. Go here! You will not regret it!!

I’m giving this 5 stars because the rolls are both delicious and inventive, I like the atmosphere (a little ramshackle but colorful with quirky painted breadbaskets hanging overhead upside down), and the staff. I just wish the owner were a bit warmer, recognized locals who eat there frequently or people who eat there two meals in a row. Excellent vegan rolls as well as sushi rolls, good drinks (lilikoi sunrise ftw).

There is some serious Michelin level food scene going on here. Ignore at your own peril. This place is a must visit. Ask for Joshua and he’ll set you up with some of the best dishes you’ve ever eaten.

This is easily the best sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to. The only photo I took was of this purple sweet potato cheesecake with a macadamia nut crust and maple drizzle, only because we were all too immersed in the food to stop to take photos of the beautifully presented sushi. It is a hole-in-the-wall joint that you might accidentally drive past if you don’t know what you’re looking for, but don’t let it’s facade deter you. Not only is the food some of the absolute best that you will have on the island of Hawaii, but the wait staff are all extremely friendly and willing to make recommendations (and you should follow said recommendations because they will not steer you wrong)! Peter, the owner, took the time to talk with us and ensure that our meal was satisfactory. If you are traveling to the Big Island, Sushi Rock is an absolute must!!! Their creative take on sushi made with fish caught earlier that day will not disappoint, and neither will their addictive desserts and refreshing cocktails.
