The dinner menu is concise, featuring a curated selection of tapas (Hakozuzhi, sashimi) and mains (noodles, fish and wagyu). According to Google, Hakozushi originated from Osaka in the 19th century. It is made using a wooden box (oshibako) to compress the rice into a rectangle shape and topped with various ingredients. Here at Sushi On, there are four toppings available; we chose three – Salmon (10), Kingfish ($11), Avocado ($7). The rice, seasoned lightly, is firmly compressed. I find the combination on the whole to taste natural (e.g. rice and avocado, rice and fish). A variation of Hakozushi is where the rice is fried until crips and topped with various diced raw fish (tuna, salmon, kingfish $15).
Beef Udon ($23) is a hearty bowl of plump udon in a rich, sweet broth. Cauliflower tempura ($12) is lightly battered, soft with crunch from the rice pops and seasoned with lots of mayo.
Service is friendly.

The crispy rice sushi is a bit sticky and hard to chew. Using normal rice will be better in my opinion.
Overall, the place is good.
The sushi here is fresh, clean, and unfussy in the best way. No over-the-top sauces or gimmicks — just quality ingredients prepared with skill. I tried the nigiri, which was incredibly soft and flavorful, and I love the tooth fish the most ! So yummy !
There’s a quiet charm to the space — a small, cozy dining area. It’s not a place that shouts, but rather one that invites.
Perfect for a quick solo meal or a no-fuss dinner with someone who appreciates good sushi. Affordable, consistent, and quietly excellent.
I visited this place for an important work meeting with high expectations, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The fish was incredibly fresh, and every piece was beautifully prepared with great attention to detail. The atmosphere was cozy yet elegant, and the staff were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive.
Staffs were welcoming and friendly, and explained through the menu thoroughly.
We had chefs recommedation 7 meal course and every piece was fantastic- especially loved the crispy rice hako sushi and yuzu/genmaicha cheese cake.
Definitely coming back!
The service was great, he was really attentive, but not over the top, so it made you feel comfortable.
The vibe was modern, minimalist, open, spacious and bright. When we walked out into the cool fresh air, it was as if we were in Japan in winter. Loved our experience!
The food was so fresh and delicious.
We ordered:
1x Assorted sashimi
2x Assorted Hako sushi
1x Crispy sushi rice with fish trio
1x Karaage chicken ribs
1x Cauliflower Tempura
1x Monkfish and Chips
5 recommendation from me.
I’d love to go again during lunchtime to try their “Japan Brioche Sando” in all their flavours (pork, chicken, prawn and fish) and their spanner crab yaki udon
Can’t wait to return!
When it comes to the sushi, the tuna, kingfish, and paradise prawns were excellent, fresh and full of flavour. The assorted sashimi was decent, but considering the price, it felt a bit average.
However, I wouldn’t recommend the chicken ribs. At $18 for just two pieces, the portion size doesn’t justify the price. The taste was actually very good, especially with the dipping sauce, but $9 per wing doesn’t feel reasonable. Hopefully, the restaurant will reconsider this.
Overall, a lovely spot with quality dishes, a relaxing vibe, and no crowds, but with a few pricing adjustments, it could be even better.
