The first OMAKASE sushi restaurant in Montreal. We have only one menu which is Chef’s best choice. We make it possible to indulge in Edomae sushi, as if you were in Japan.

We were truly happy to find that such outstanding Japanese cuisine can be enjoyed in Montreal. The server’s detailed explanations of each dish and the chef’s performance made the entire two-hour experience thoroughly enjoyable. We would definitely love to visit again. We are Japanese, and even from a Japanese perspective, this restaurant is highly recommended.
Being able to experience a variety of Japanese foods made me feel as if I had actually traveled to Japan. On top of that, they even celebrated my birthday, making it a truly memorable day. This is definitely a restaurant I would love to visit again. Thank you to all the staff for such a happy and unforgettable time!
My favourite dishes were the black cod, the yellowfin nigiri, the scallop and the wagyu.
Dining at Sushi Okeya Kyujiro was nothing short of a revelation. The 25-course omakase unfolded like a meticulously choreographed performance — each dish a delicate balance of flavor, texture, and visual poetry. The artistry in the preparation was so captivating that I often found myself completely absorbed in the moment, forgetting to take photographs. In truth, it felt almost intrusive to interrupt the serene precision and reverence with which the chefs approached their craft.
Every plate was a miniature masterpiece — beautifully presented, perfectly timed, and imbued with a quiet sense of ceremony. The staff demonstrated an impeccable standard of professionalism: attentive yet unobtrusive, polished yet warm.
An unforgettable experience that lingers long after the final bite. If you appreciate the art of Japanese cuisine, this is an absolute must-visit. A dining experience I’ll remember for a long time.
disclaimer: my meal was comped
The 20+ course Omakase menu unfolded like an epic narrative, each dish more surprising and delightful than the last. Every plate presented was not merely food, but a revelation. The chefs, masters of their craft, work not behind walls but on a stage of polished wood, their movements fluid, deliberate, and reverent. The attention to detail was staggering. They do not cook—they compose.
The service staff, equal parts storytellers and scholars, were gracious and attentive, but also deeply knowledgeable, offering insightful explanations and a fascinating background behind each course.
From the first bite to the final, lingering note of dessert, the experience teeters between performance and prayer.
Perhaps most impressive of all was how seamlessly the team catered to our individual needs. Dietary restrictions and allergies were handled with care and creativity, without compromising the integrity or intention of any dish, all seamlessly woven into the performance as though the script had always read that way.
