Really good dishes. Love the thai milk tea. Bonus that its dog friendly and the outdoor space is covered. Lovely outdoor area set up. Very friendly service. They handed my dog a water bowl as soon as we sat. Very much appreciate feeling welcome.

We went to Roslyn Thai Cafe in West Melbourne for breakfast/brunch this weekend and it was such a great find. The place is very cute and the service was incredibly friendly. Even the kids loved it.
From the street it looks a little unassuming and quite small, with less than ten seats inside, so I had passed it many times without going in. What I did not realise is that it wraps around to a beautiful covered outdoor deck at the back with plenty of larger tables. The whole place has such a lovely vibe.
The food was excellent. They have a delicious selection of Thai dishes as well as mouth watering pastries and cakes. As we were leaving my daughter got a gigantic chocolate chip cookie which absolutely made her day.
I can be quite picky when it comes to South East Asian food. Thailand is one of my favourite places and sometimes Thai food here can feel a bit westernised, which I do not enjoy. This place definitely did not disappoint.
I ordered the Khao Khai Khon which was creamy scrambled eggs with braised pork belly on rice served with prik nahm pla. It was incredibly satisfying and full of flavour.
My husband had the Gao Lao Nuea Toon which was an Asian spice braised beef soup with Chinese broccoli and bean shoots, served with jasmine rice and topped with an onsen egg and chilli vinegar. It was rich, comforting and really delicious.
The kids had Thai fried chicken with rice which they completely devoured.
The coffee was also great. I had something called Coffee on Cloud which was an iced black coffee topped with coconut cream foam. The rim of the glass was coated in tiny coconut flakes and there was even a little speck of gold foil on the foam. It looked beautiful and tasted fantastic. The kids shared some sparkling lychee drink, it was pretty and refreshing but next time I’ll just get them water.
This was technically brunch for us but it was one of the best breakfasts we have had in a while. We will definitely be back.

Roslyn Thai is my favourite Thai café for both breakfast and lunch. My go-to dish is the congee with either chicken or pork balls — it’s comforting and full of flavour. I also love their kaya toast; you can really tell the Thai chef uses real pandan leaves in both cooking and baking.
Their house-made Thai milk tea is always excellent — rich, fragrant, and not too sweet. The cakes are equally impressive, perfectly balanced in sweetness and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying the pandan taro, mandarin, or Thai milk tea cakes.
The staff are always helpful and friendly, and they update their menu seasonally. Don’t miss the mango sticky rice this summer — it’s a must-try!

Tried the Foithong Taro Cake at Roselyn and it was amazing. The cake was soft and light with a delicate taro flavor, not too sweet. The cream was smooth, and the foithong on top was rich and fragrant — the perfect finishing touch.

It’s not often you see a brunch place serving Thai food, but here we are. To be honest, some of the dishes are what you would normally get at a Thai restaurant too. However, there are some others which sounded like breakfast items (think of congee, bread rolls). The caramelized pork belly is soft and the sauce soothes your soul. The roti murtabak is okay and the pork floss with chilli jam toast is something different. The chilli jam is not spicy.
The kids’ fried chicken is generous in portion, but I wouldn’t say it has much flavor compared to the other dishes we tried. They also have a variety of cakes on display if you prefer something lighter.
The place is small, so expect queues on the weekend and during rush hours.

So good! The atmosphere is very cozy (i recommend staying outside on a good day). The food is really tasty and JUST RIGHT. I recommend the caramelised pork and the braised pork soup.
