I try to go to a new AYCE sushi place in chicago every time I’m back here and today I really enjoyed sushi nova! The atmosphere is nice and service was great. They have a wide variety of sushi rolls, appetizers, nigiri, and desserts to pick from! For $26 (lunch) I really enjoyed my meal and it was super worth it!

i usually like to get nigiri at ayce spots, but this place makes me feel like you get your money’s worth in rolls instead. i felt like there was too much rice in the nigiri so i switched to ordering rolls for the following round. they have a pretty good variety of rolls to order from. not to mention, you can get 2 pieces of sashimi with every roll you order

When we first walked in there was a huge cat sculpture that is great for pictures, and overall very cute! Then immediately they sat us down, and the seats, and tables were very clean and up to par. The service was very good, as they brought a beautifully stacked plate of sushi in around 15 minutes. We also got some lightly-salted edamame that was also very tasty. Our waiter’s name was Devi, and she was very swift at her job, kind, and also checked in on us all throughout the time that we were eating. The miso soup was probably the best tasting miso ever! The rice on all of the rolls was very thin, which made it taste better. For desert we also got yummy green tea, and vanilla mochi! They also have around 5 tv’s so you can be entertained too! The atmosphere is very lodge-like, cozy, and old-timey. We also got all you can eat for $25, plus the prices were overall affordable! They also play some backround music, have seasonal decor, and fabulous service! This was a very pleasant lunch experience at Sushi Nova, for my first time in Chicago!

Great sushi for the prices. They have all you can eat. I didn’t do that. I ordered sashimi regular plate. 12 large pieces of fresh flavorful sashimi. Beautiful presentation. Included soup and salad.
Cocktails also great. Very fair pricing here. Highly recommend.
Only caveat is come with patience for service speed. Worth it though.

Living in Michigan, it’s hard to find an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant, so whenever I travel to Chicago, visiting one always goes on my to-do list. Sushi Nova is a great spot downtown where you can enjoy fresh sushi and a wide variety of appetizers at a very reasonable price. The lunch all-you-can-eat option is only $25.99, and the quality is impressive for the price.
Another bonus is the location—after eating, you can take a nice walk along the Riverwalk to help with digestion and enjoy the city views. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Chicago and craving sushi!

Food was very fresh and aesthetically pleasing. They have authentic sake with unique flavors. The price for all you can eat is very reasonable and includes many different courses. The service was extraordinary. Pictures are after we dug in. Lol

This place was great! The salmon was fresh and so was everything. For an AYCE some rolls were 10 pcs which is alot and you can only order 3 sashimi pieces for each roll you order!

Sushi Nova is a great spot for sushi lovers. I ordered the Crab Rangoon, Haru Maki, Angry Dragon Roll, Volcano Roll, and some perfectly crispy tempura — everything was fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. The rolls had a great balance of texture and taste, the appetizers were delicious, and the tempura was light and not greasy at all. The staff were really nice and attentive, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a nice place to enjoy a casual meal with friends or family. Overall, a solid place for sushi in Chicago, and I’d be happy to come back.

Totally fine experience at a fair price. Better quality sushi than a lot of other spots in the city, but nothing standout. The cucumber salad was different than I’ve had other places and was kind of hard to eat – it pulled like spaghetti noodles. The crab rangoon were good. I got the chef coconut shrimp and the sauce was super tasty but the tempura shrimp was coldish/room temperature which made it a little weird as a bite. The sushi was all good, but almost all of my rolls were not rolled closed which made it hard to eat as they were falling apart. The tempura Oreos were not totally what I was expecting and felt stale, but I ate them without complaints and the sauce was great. Overall, everything was good and enjoyable, and the sushi tasted fresh. I felt for the price, it’s what I expected and I wasn’t disappointed. My major disappointment however was with the service, as I never was approached for a water refill and it was hard to get anyone’s attention to stop, even when it appeared to be fairly slow when I was in.
