The best sushi I’ve ever had! Me and my family have been coming here for over 10 years. The chef is very nice and friendly as well as the employees. I recommend this type of sushi to people who actually like fish and authentic Japanese sushi.. not Americanized sushi.

I went to wash my hands and the bathroom was dirty as well as the whole restaurant. And stupid dirty like dirty walls and handles, etc. stuff that could just be wiped up but they didn’t bother.
Sushi rolls were just ok. Never has to ask for ginger before.. the staff was very nice and polite.
They brought the soup, then meals about 2 minutes later. Not that they were rushing us but a bit more time so we now have a table crammed with plates and bowls..
My kids said they felt like they were being watched the whole time but the staff. I think they meant well but it was dead in there.
The chicken fried rice was odd tasting and the chicken had strange texture. My kids wouldn’t eat it.
I think better management and a good deep clean could make the place work.

Came here last minute because one of my coworkers raved about how good this place was.
• Setting • Walked in, and the place was empty. Just felt like the place was dirty. But, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a go anyways.
• Service • Very welcoming service. Waitress greeted us, and let us sit anywhere. She suggested many items on the menu and explained everything. But when we ate, I kept feeling eyes on us every time we ate. It kind of felt uncomfortable. But then again, my boyfriend and I were the only ones there.
• Food • my boyfriend said his bento box was delicious. And it did look delicious! But, when I got my sushi. It wasn’t even presentable and the plate they put the sushi on was dirty. The taste was good, but it wasn’t to the point where I was satisfied like any other sushi restaurant.

It’s a family favorite, we always come for big events to celebrate! The owner and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Kato, are very friendly and the happy hour from 5-6:30 for sushi rolls is always delicious, as well as the other items on their menu!

Sushi Kato doesn’t deserve poor or fake reviews. This is a very good restaurant in terms of quickness, quality, taste, freshness, generous portions, Happy Hour from 5 – 6:30PM and location near hotels and the 99 freeway. Sushi Snobs, lousy HYelp and Frugal Google reviewers don’t fully appreciate much in life so they leave inaccurate reviews. Thank you Kato & Sunny, Thank you Staff! To all those out there who post photos, please wipe your camera lens off first.

So, sushi at Sushi Kato is the best. Taste great, better quality meats than others, chef is highly experienced. I consider it one of the best sushi restaurants in town. Would reccomend. Happy hour is nice and convenient. Menu items all taste/pair well. Go in for an unexpected treat. s.g

This is now the only place I go for sushi. The traditional sushi is amazing and it’s a small business that’s been running strong for 20+ years. I’ve yet to be disappointed and you can’t beat HALF OFF SUSHI!!! I Recommend this place to all of my friends. And the Saki is amazing! My favorite item on the menu so far has got to be the yellow tail roll and the Hawaiian rainbow roll. Don’t forget to try the miso soup! Cooks for over 24hours

Older place. Nothing very fancy. Been around a long time. Great sushi. Fresh and never has that funny flavor that other places raw fish sushi tend to have… a preservative maybe? Great food.
Nice folks running it. Rolls half off for happy hour. Kato san is quite a sports guy too.
