Was the sushi to die for? No. Was it tasty and a good deal? Yes. We got the spicy tuna crunchy rice appetizer (this was to die for) the three roll combo which came with a choice of either miso soup or salad. The service was great and it was pretty chill for a Thursday night. The inside of the restaurant is comfortable and nice but to me it’s the epitome of cozy. It was satisfactory and I’d go back.

I heard about Sushi Hatsune online but coming in person really confirmed the hype behind this place. I found this place on Tik Tok as “one of the best sushi take-outs in NYC” but after dining in I just want to share it also is an amazing dinner date spot. The ambiance is gorgeous and the service is phenomenal. I got the infamous crispy rice which was an explosion of goodness in my mouth. The spicy salmon roll was one of the best I have ever had. This miso soup helped me warm up on a crisp fall day. Did I mention they have $6 happy hour wine? 10/10…..no notes

One of the best neighborhood sushi spots with great value for the quality of sushi. I’ve only done either takeout or delivery, but when I swing by I see people dining in as well. It’s a relaxed restaurant that isn’t stuffy and has some very fresh cuts of sushi, especially at the price point.

I think they shine best with their nigiri and they have some nice inventive, flavorful pieces like the King Salmon Yuzu Kosuho sushi and the Nama Hotate Shio Sushi. Their rolls are pretty solid too as is their spicy tuna crispy rice.

The prices are average, although the combo price was slightly better if you order rolls that aren’t the cheapest.

The fish seems fresh but the maki rolls were not tasty. It tasted like there was Tabasco or something in the spicy rolls. The California roll was good but that’s difficult to screw up- although I’ve had such. And the specialty roll was incredibly distasteful. My stomach hurt eating these rolls and I didn’t finish. The miso soup was fine as were the gyoza. Overall, it was awful!

I spent so much because it was so highly rated but this was westernized sushi and absolutely disappointing. Will never order from here again. Blech.

A friend and I stopped here impromptu on our walk and we were extremely impressed. Our server was a literal angel and provided sincere personal recommendations to my friend returning from Japan. We ended up re-ordering both of her suggestions. Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive, the inside was also so sweet to be in. You can tell the care they put in and we really appreciated it. Will absolutely be back!!

Decent sushi and reasonable prices. The smoked edamame was excellent. Gyoza was good. Loved the tuna roll. Wouldn’t get the chili tofu again, it lacked flavor

This place predominantly does delivery business, the actual restaurant is tiny

Very good sushi. I’d recommend going hard on the combos here – the 5 piece chef choice nigiri combo for 20 dollars is a really good deal, same with the bluefin 5 piece combo for 28. The sushi quality is as good as a bunch of omakase places, and much cheaper. There’s never a wait here which is nice. I also like the maki combo with the seared toro and salmon – very generous with fish in these. Crispy rice with spicy tuna is tasty!

The sushi here is just, wow. So so yummy. Stumbled in here for a late dinner after arriving on a late flight. So happy with my decision to try it. Absolutely delicious fish. Definitely hoping to come back again!

These are $18 hand rolls ($9 each). It’s very small. I’m a woman, and it only took me three bites to finish it. Here it is compared to my palm and my seven-month-old baby’s hand. The taste isn’t amazing—just average, similar to an inexpensive sushi rice ball. So I don’t recommend it; the value for money isn’t great.

The hype is real. The sushi is so fresh. Stuck with a salmon roll and spicy tuna roll and they were fantastic. I loved it so much it inspired this poem…

In the land where the ocean meets the sky,
My heart seeks sushi, that’s no lie.

A harmony of tastes, a symphony of delight,
In each delicate roll, every delectable bite.

Rice, seaweed, with salmon’s blush,
A love so profound, it makes me hush.

Wasabi’s warmth, ginger’s cool,
Every piece, a glistening jewel.

Sweetly whispers the tender eel,
In every slice, love’s a tactile feel.

Oh sushi, my sushi, a passion so pure,
It’s you, my culinary cure.

Your allure is endless, deep as the sea,
In each sushi bite, I find my glee.
