This was my first time at Sushi Hatsu, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations. The food was nothing short of amazing — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Amazing as ALWAYS!! Harrison and his well trained team never lets us down when we dine at this Amber treasure. Truly a gem in the burbs. Owner is personable and takes the time to check in on his customers. Food is always delightfully decadent. The staff is on point. We love this place! Wow! This place is the reason why you go out to eat! Why did it take us so long to discover this gem? My wife had the salmon, and I ordered the Chilean seabass, and both were AMAZING! Exceptional kitchen and perfect preparation. Wonderful attention to taste, freshness, and presentation. Clearly, very experienced hands at work in this kitchen. We will be coming back to try EVERYTHING on the menu. Thank you for a memorable dinner.

I’ve eaten here plenty of times and just haven’t left a review. Shame on me! It’s always delicious, and the staff is always kind and attentive. BUT, Tonight I was in for a treat. One of the sushi chefs overheard In a conversation with my husband that I had never tried Uni and he didn’t even hesitate to throw a piece my way. That’s just the kind of place this is. They want you to have a good time and it always looks like they’re having a good time themselves. If you haven’t been here before, don’t hesitate. 10/10 every time 🙂

Sushi Hatsu, from a veteran chef, riffs on Japanese cuisine in Ambler. Sushi Hatsu, a partnership between chef Harrison Kim and restaurant builder Frank Lott. It’s the first time owning a restaurant Kim, a kitchen lifer who worked at famed Japanese concepts like Morimoto in Philly and Nobu in San Diego.
Sushi Hatsu is a BYOB restaurant serving excellent fresh sushi, seafood, and Japanese-inflected small plates.
We had a dinner on Saturday night at 6 pm. Our very friendly waitress Heather provided an excellent service. We ordered 3 chef’s sushi rolls (Hatsu, Diablo, Tarantino), an appetizer and desserts (Green Tea Panna Cota and Yuzu Cheesecake. Everything was fresh and delicious. Next time we will try the highly rated Kobe Beef Foie Gras and the Seafood Toban. The spacious restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. Sushi Hatsu is a true BYOB gem in Ambler (51 E Butler Ave). Highly recommend this restaurant. Reservations are made with prepaid credit card fee ($25/person).

Very calm atmosphere and an upscale interior. The staff were very attentive and kept our water glasses filled. Our waitress noticed we did not bring alcohol (it is BYOB) and offered us complimentary rice wine. The sushi rolls were prepared quickly and very tasteful. They have a unique yet traditional selection of food, many items that you may not find at a typical sushi restaurant. The miso soup was the best I’d ever had!
