The chef has a very diverse background, both personal and professional experience, and that makes his creation very interesting, and unique. Unlike most of the omakase, where they mostly have the fresh sashimi over rice, sushi by sea is different! The choice of sashimi is of course very fresh and seasonal, but what makes me love this place is all the home-made, perfectly balance and just right amount sauce and the unexpected but surprisingly good combinations. The chef is also very knowledgable and a fun person to chat with.
The service is also top notch. They mean it when they say “Arrive as strangers, Leave as friends”. The restaurant manager Jay is also really fun to chat with, and has a very diverse background. They care about what you like and what you don’t like about the food, or if any special request you have. For example, first time I was there, I mentioned I prefer less rice for my sushi, and the vinegar in the rice is a little bit too overpower for me. Guess what, at my 2nd visit, they remembered and accommodated to my preference. And they continued to check during each of my visit, until I am satisfied.
The food, the people, the experience, and the vibe turn my husband and myself to regular visitors of their place. And every time I visit, I still love it, and look forward to my next visit, wondering what’s on today’s menu and how is everyone doing!
Be sure to take a photo of each plate and savor what you’re eating—you’ll definitely want another serving and might not remember every detail! My favorite that day was the sea bream, though I almost feel bad singling it out because everything was spectacular—even the miso soup.
Jay, who is part of the ownership team, was exceptionally welcoming and made everyone feel comfortable and fully immersed in the experience.
