Loved everything about it!
(The only qualms I have is with the $58 add-on of thr caviar bump — I did not think it was worth it.)
Will definitely be back!
Razo, was so welcoming and kind and made the experience that much better! We will definitely be coming back for their tuna tour!
While the ingredients themselves were fresh, the portions were outrageously bad. The amount of fish and especially the rice was shockingly small. The couple sitting next to us even asked twice if they could get more rice, which really says a lot. On top of that, there was absolutely no creativity in the flavors. Every course blended into the next, and the entire meal was completely forgettable.
To make things worse, they had also run out of uni. Basic inventory management should be expected… this just felt unprofessional.
For the price point, this experience was unacceptable. I left feeling so hungry (never happened to me after an omakase) and ended up going to K-town afterward just to eat more food. My friend went straight home after and later told me she actually woke up hungry, which says everything.
The seating was also uncomfortable, and the space was so dark it took away from whatever atmosphere they were trying to create. The only real positive I can mention is that the service was friendly and attentive.
Overall, for this price, I would never return to Sushi by Bou unless it were free. There are far better omakase experiences in NYC that are more filling, more creative, and far more memorable.
Came here for Valentine’s Day arrived probably 30 minutes early to our reservation and had drinks in lounge those were fine and normal but then we weren’t seated till about 40 minutes after the time of our reservation. Staff was super nice about it though so we didn’t really mind that much. The omakase experience was average not bad or exceptional and we didn’t really appreciate that they took our bottle of sake off the check for us. But they were obviously running very behind and had us eat dessert in the lounge without a table additionally dessert was just a tube of freezer burnt ice cream which was very lack luster. And this would’ve all been fine but then we got some of the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had from this place. Non stop vomiting.
