My dad and I accidentally found this place and it is now our favorite sushi spot! Mel was our server and she was amazing! Super kind and helpful with the menu and suggesting things. 5/5 whole experience and will be back many more times!

After finishing my review I realized I need a TL;DR. Go eat here, the food is AMAZING.
This was the best culinary experience of my trip to Florida.
We were looking forward to some Sushi. We weren’t ready for the experience we got.
The menu is huge, almost confusing. But then you start reading and everything sounds amazing. We worked hard trying to find something that didn’t sound good on the menu.
Ended up ordering at least six different rolls and a special. The presentation was impeccable. Every single thing we got was AMAZING.
The service was quick and pleasant. The kitchen was clearly on their game because food arrived quickly, was presented beautifully and was just delicious.
This place was so good that when we were wondering what to have tonight it was an easy choice to go back. We had another six rolls, all new no repeats. They were all just as good as the first night.
If you like fish, if you like sushi. Do yourself a favor and visit this place, you will not be disappointed.

We had a few sushi rolls, lo mein and hibachi. I was not impressed by any of it, 2nd time here. The $16 tuna roll was flavorless and bordered on fishy and the Mexican roll was double the size and you had to cut it with a knife just to get it in your mouth. The vegetables in the hibachi and lo mein were completely overcooked and mushy, as if they had been cooked prior and then nuked in a microwave. The soy sauce fried rice was the farthest thing from fried rice…. It wasn’t even fried in a wok. The shrimp was extremely tough and flavorless….not to mention the restaurant is overpriced for the quality and value of the food. Will not go back, there are too many spectacular restaurants in this area.

This is my go-to Sushi place, this is a fantastic Sushi restaurant. Not only is this consistently the best sushi I’ve had, it also surprised me as the best Thai Tea I’ve ever had as well, which was unexpected. The presentation is spectacular, the staff is always delightful, and food is to die for. Hands down the best sushi restaurant in and around Sarasota.

Just had an outstanding experience at Sushi Bay, as it was my first time here, I didn’t know what to expect. But I’ll definitely try to return on any trip though town in the future. The freshness and thoughtful presentations were very professional and appreciated.
