Dining at Sushi Bar was one of the best culinary experiences of my life.
From start to finish, the experience completely reframed how I think about sushi. It wasn’t just a meal it was intentional, immersive, and deeply thoughtful. I genuinely don’t think I’ll ever experience sushi the same way again.
The care, creativity, and hospitality from the entire team truly set this experience apart. In a world full of great dining options, Sushi | Bar stands in a category of its own.
If you’re looking for more than just dinner if you want an experience that changes how you think about food this is it.
Highly recommend.

Me and my significant other celebrated a work milestone with dinner here. We knew we were going to be spending a lot going into this meal having heard good reviews from friends. That being said, do not eat here if you are concerned with trying to not spend $$$$. I would highly recommend you understand the pricing before you go and partake in every additional menu item special and a wine or sake/pairing to go with the delightful food. The chefs eloquently explained every dish and where the fish was harvested. Our omakase menu was 16 courses with and additional course (for added fee $), making it 17 courses. I enjoying the lower level sake pairing and was very happy with it. My girlfriend enjoyed the wine pairing. I would definitely recommend to others, especially for celebrating very special occasions! So far this if the best sushi I’ve had since living in Nashville.

Our experience at Sushi | Bar Nashville went far beyond expectations.
It all started with my mistake of booking the wrong date — but the team went above and beyond to support me and make sure everything was corrected. That level of care already showed how special the night would be.
From the moment we stepped into the lounge, the atmosphere felt intimate, exclusive, and very private. The welcome drink was the perfect start, beautifully crafted and setting the tone for what was to come.
But the true highlight of the evening was the people who made the experience unforgettable. Chef Duncan Kinsey created an omakase that was both innovative and perfectly balanced, guiding us through flavors that were absolutely mind-blowing. Sommelier Kacie Pennington paired everything with such knowledge, passion, and charm — her energy elevated the whole night. Together, they didn’t just serve food and drinks, they created a journey. They definitely made our night be perfect and we are so grateful our evening was guided by 2 WONDERFUL professionals.
We also had the pleasure of sharing this evening with another guest who was simply incredible, making the intimate setting feel even warmer and more memorable.
This was so much more than just dinner. It was an experience filled with artistry, passion, and connection. Worth every cent — and something we’ll never forget. Can’t wait to come back.

My & husband I, we travel for food. Tonight, we were grateful to have the private room to ourselves. From a foodie’s perspective, “Perfection”is the word that explains it all. Thank you chef & Kacie.

My husband surprised me with a date night here for my birthday, as he knows sushi is always my choice if given one. I only thought I had been eating sushi, this experience showed me that while what I had been partaking was good this was on a whole new level. From the moment you enter the vibe is set! The atmosphere giving smooth and relaxing. Upon entrance, a lovely host greets you with a wonderful smile. Asks you to be seated while she prepares the complimentary house cocktail, that was so refreshing, it opens the pallet up to be able to accept the firework of flavors that are to come. She then explains the cocktail while serving it and asks if their are any food allergies that need to be made known. Each private dinner consists of an intimate group of twelve. Once all twelve arrive, you are given an introduction into what you can look forward to for the evening. At that point you are all then called by name and escorted to a private room in which individual nameplates have been set out. If you are there celebrating an event, birthday or anniversary a card is left in front of you as you are seated. Each member of staff took the time to sign and wish you their best, which was such a sweet and unexpected gesture. The chefs then step forward and everyone is introduced to each chef and the drink connoisseur. The menu is gone over as well as how each course will be served. Hot towels are given, so you have something to clean fingers with after each course as this experience is one where you eat with your hands includes the most delicious pickled cucumber mix given to each person to eat after each sushi course to cleanse the pallet to get you ready for the next. A drink menu is given, where you may choose from pairings or Sake or Wine some that come as flights as well as a list of individual sake and wine options that you may get by the glass or bottle. The drink connoisseur is absolutely amazing and knew exactly what I was looking for as I am not normally a sake drinker, however I may have found a new favorite. Each course is then prepared and each chef takes a turn to explain each one once they are all sat in front of you. Everyone then takes the bite at the same time, and to me I truly enjoyed hearing the reactions to the way everyone reacted to the flavors that just exploded in their mouths. On that note I suggest, if offered to have the Australian Truffle and the caviar added to the certain sushi prepared it’s worth the cost for the experience not to mention the taste. The caviar was a flavor all its on, so light and delicate, truly a treat. After sixteen of the most magnificently well sculpted sushi flights, paired with the sweetest Sake, and followed with a iced cream with matcha and white chocolate, let’s just say I was completely satisfied and honestly disappointed that the evening was ending. The staff from the hostess, to the drink connoisseur and to the three most outstanding chefs made for an unforgettable evening. The entire staff was above and beyond and the chefs were amazing and more than happy to join in conversations and answer any questions. The menu is changed based on the season and what fish is available as everything is flown in fresh three times a week, and may I say you can taste the freshness. If cost is a concern for you, this may not be at the top of your list, however if you are looking for a tremendous new experiences, an amazing atmosphere, customer service that outshines the rest and a night of unforgettable memories this is your spot. As the saying goes you only live once, make new memories, take new adventures, try different food and spoil yourself or someone you care about and make the reservation. May I suggest your first reservation be to Sushi | Bar in Nashville.

I went with my son while visiting him in Nashville. The place has a great vibe. Starting in the lounge and being called to the dining room by.
They really do make it a very special experience.
Truly unique for omakase. Each course is explained in intricate detail, from the sourcing of ingredients to the components of the various sauces. It is very hard to remember everything they tell you. Whether you do,doesn’t matter, the offerings are exceptional.
The presentation is beautiful.
They do allow pictures but no flash so the pictures are a bit underexposed.
I will definitely go back .

Amazing sushi dining, and an immersive experience.
Fresh fish is crafted into decedent sushi in front of you while the chefs explain what each piece is. Every course is different with complex yet balanced flavor. The meal is satiating.
The service is personal throughout the meal. My friend has a salmon allergy and they are able to change her sushi pieces to accommodate.
We’ve been multiple times and continue to go back. One of the few spots in Nashville that is completely worth the price.

Sushi | Bar Nashville is an absolute gem and one of the most unforgettable dining experiences I’ve had in the United States. From the moment you step inside, the attention to detail and warm ambiance immediately set the tone for an incredible evening.
The omakase experience at the sushi counter was mesmerizing. Watching the talented chefs craft each piece with precision and care was like witnessing art in motion. The flavors were out of this world, with each bite showcasing the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. The personalized nameplates at the counter were a thoughtful touch that made the evening feel even more special.
The sake pairings are an absolute must! Two different pairings, each thoughtfully curated to perfectly complement the dishes, elevating the entire experience to another level. It’s a journey of flavors that sushi and sake enthusiasts simply cannot miss.
The lounge area was stunning, with a cozy, mid-century modern aesthetic and perfect lighting. It was the ideal spot to unwind with a beautifully crafted cocktail before or after the meal.
Sushi | Bar Nashville goes above and beyond in every way. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for an exceptional culinary adventure, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!
