Absolutely incredible dining experience. The quality of ingredients is exceptional. The chefs are so talented with their craft and very passionate about what they are serving. I wish I took more pictures but was too busy enjoying this one of a kind dining experience. Highly recommend! Easily the best omakase experience I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!

We had an unbelievable time at Sushi Bar! Every course was outstanding. I did the wine pairing, which was spectacular and my husband thoroughly enjoyed the suggested sake. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable and happy to guide you along an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment you first walk in until you say bye, the hospitality and service was 5 star. We can’t wait to go back and would highly recommend!!

We went to Sushi | Bar for Valentine’s Day and it was one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had in Charleston.
It’s an 18-course omakase in an intimate 12-seat room around the chefs’ counter. The experience lasts about two hours and feels special without being stuffy. You’re welcomed with champagne or a non-alcoholic option, and the three chefs rotate presenting each bite, explaining the courses and keeping it interactive and fun. They actually encourage you to relax and talk with your neighbors, which makes it feel more like an elevated dinner party than a formal tasting.
Every bite was intentional and beautifully presented. We were obsessed with the house cucumbers served as a palate cleanser between courses. Standouts for us were a bright lemon bite, an indulgent truffle bite, and the Wagyu. It was unreal.
They have a sommelier who guides you through wine pairings, a Japanese whiskey experience, or by-the-glass wine and sake options. Dress is elevated casual, polished but not overly fancy.
Expect to spend around $265 to $350+ per person depending on if you purchase alcohol. It’s a splurge, but absolutely worth it for a special occasion or date night. Be sure to book at least 30 days in advance since it fills quickly. I highly recommend taking an Uber if you plan to enjoy the pairings, though street parking nearby is easy to find.
The staff is friendly, laid-back, and genuinely loves what they do. We will absolutely be back.

We had the most incredible experience at Sushi Bar for Valentine’s Day. There is truly nothing else like this in Charleston — it completely exceeded our expectations.
The quality of the food was exceptional, and every course felt intentional and beautifully executed. The chef and staff were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and engaging, adding thoughtful education around the food that made the experience even more special.
A special thank you to our beverage specialist, Shawn, who absolutely elevated the night. His sake pairings were perfectly curated for each course and enhanced every bite. His depth of knowledge, ability to explain each selection in an approachable way, and genuinely warm personality made the experience feel both refined and fun. He truly added another layer to an already outstanding evening.
The atmosphere was perfection — elevated yet welcoming. The music, the pacing, the energy of the room — every detail was curated so well. It’s rare these days to leave a restaurant feeling like it was genuinely worth every dollar, but this absolutely was.
We haven’t stopped talking about it and cannot wait to go back. Sushi Bar is such a special addition to Charleston.

Incredible. We went this weekend after they were only open for about a week. Not over-hyped, such an intimate and special experience. Perfect for a special occasion or date night. To the shock of many, we lack high quality sushi restaurants in Charleston and something this elevated was deeply missing in our city. 10/10. You will not be disappointed.

Nothing short of an amazing experience a few nights ago at the new Sushi | Bar downtown. Everything – from the curated outreach a week ahead of our visit, to the personalized setting and service, to the incredible 17 course Omakase selection of fresh and innovative delicacies – was without parallel. The Omakase room only seats 12, so the smallness and intimacy adds to the experience. Easily on par with the finest Omakase we were used to in NYC. It ain’t cheap, but it was worth it in every respect. Big fan! These pictures in no way do justice to the experience!

Sushi Bar exceeds all expectations. This experience is like no other. It starts with great southern hospitality and a welcome beverage before the ‘experience’ is unveiled: sushi as you have never before experienced, delivered directly to you by a master craftsman chef who is creating a culinary masterpiece while engaging you, the client. You are immersed into a world of knowledge about sushi you never imagined. The creativity of flavors doesn’t just happen one time through the seating, it happens continually. Brilliant. Just brilliant!

What a phenomenal experience. Every single course of the Omakase was delicious. The Wagyu was the best I’ve ever had. The chefs were engaging and fun. Small enough crowd to be intimate. 100% worth the money!

Day 1, first seating and these guys knocked it right out of the freakin park!!! I had my reservations about another overpriced Omasake experience coming to Charleston and I’m happy to say I was wrong. I think I can speak for the full 12 of us that dined together last night when I saw that this is one of the best Omasake experiences in the country! From the moment we walked into the very speakeasy unassuming door to the behind this curtain you’ll meet the wizard of Oz vibes we were feeling nothing but good energy and excitement. These are not your sushi counter chefs these guys have earned Michelin stars while working at other restaurants across the country and have brought the experience, expertise, and flavors here to Charleston. Their Sake menu is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before and there are things on it that are the firsts of its kind to be seen here in Charleston. I don’t know how they could improve on this experience and it obviously isn’t cheap but for the food and the experience it’s truly something unforgettable and I can’t wait to go back! I also can’t wait to try the new “steakhouse light” experience you’ll have next door starting next week! Phenomenal job 100/10 worth it!
