I feel the food was okay mine was cold and took them forever to bring it out. Unfortunately they said they got tons of Tickets in when I ordered but I just don’t believe that. Made no sense. I was pretty happy with atmosphere but that’s because of the ppl I brought with me. No toilet paper in the bathroom & it was so gross. This was round 5 on Saturday. Parking not so great.

Ordered from Surf rider Pizza through Uber Eats, but honestly, I should have just walked over—it’s so close to home! The food was incredible. The Surf Rider pizza pie was absolutely delicious, loaded with flavor and cooked perfectly. And the dirty wings? Hands down the best wings I’ve had in a long time—crispy, saucy, and just the right amount of kick. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. All right, I have to be honest, I’m between 3 and 4 stars on this place. The pizza was great! Nice thin crust , an even layer of toppings that had great flavor and the pizza held up well when picked up! We had the Surf Rider pizza and let me tell you, the amount of garlic on this pizza is not for the faint-hearted!! It was delicious, nice and roasted and melted in your mouth but it had a ton of garlic on it!!
We love wings and we’re so anxious to try them, we got the plain dirty wings with blue cheese. First of all, these wings are extremely puffy, they later told me that they are first baked and then fried which made them puff up in almost a spongy way. We did not enjoy them at all unfortunately. The green sauce was tasty and had a nice jalapeno zing to it, but the blue cheese was lacking in flavor.
We grabbed some garlic knots and those were very tasty with a very flavorful marinara sauce to dip them in.
We also decided to try a swell cookie and opted for the Blonde Rocky road. This was unlike any cookie I have ever had, it seems like maybe they fold egg whites into their batter. They were more of a light and crisp cookie, it tasted good but was not my favorite.
We would definitely go back for pizza, garlic knots and their wonderful assortment of beer! Atmosphere was also very cool, we sat inside as it was a chilly night, but they provide nice patios with heaters!

Great pizza! I really enjoyed the GOAT. this was during the LA Mesa Octoberfest and it was a blast. My only issue is that the TVs are old and foggy and need some modern updates to see better. Other than that it was a great meal and Padre game.

We were excited to try this place. Alas, it didn’t live up to the fun looking flavors advertised. The G.O.A.T pizza was enjoyed by our party. The other two were flavorless and had a large amount of oil dumped on them. The Surf Rider was supposed to have Gorgonzola, I’m not certain they put any on. We had to pour the added oil off before we could even try to take a bite, but it was lacking any flavor.
The large salads are definitely not family style, are quite small and have almost zero toppings.
They advertise having vegan options, but have nothing vegan on their menu nor do they advertise how they can veganize anything.
They did have a peppermint hot chocolate cookie that was out of this world though.
I don’t think I’ve ever left a place simultaneously sick to my stomach and starving because I couldn’t stomach their food.. until now.

This place is hopping, one of the most friendly and busiest restaurants in downtown Historic La Mesa. Likely because of the fun atmosphere, reasonable prices and family friendly decor. It really was the busiest and most popular place on the night of the 2022 street winter festival.
The pizza is decent. It’s thin crust, and uses fresh ingredients.
We ordered take out in order to eat on the street during the winter festival. I was told 30-35 minutes for food preparation, but it wasn’t done for over 45 min – they were BUSY.
Unfortunately, they gave me the entirely wrong pizza when I picked up my order. We had waited so long we chose to eat it anyways, but we did go back to let them know. They thanked us for letting them know and cooked a replacement immediately, about another 10 minutes. They made a mistake, but were quick to correct it. Too bad it took so long to make the first pizza…but the correction was made. I believe they just mistakenly swapped pizzas with another order.
We also tried their Greek salad, which was great and the dirty wings- one of my daughters thought the chicken was incredible. It was tasty.
It’s a fun restaurant. Your family will enjoy it.

My husband & 1 stopped in last night to grab a few slices and watch the end of the football game. When our order was brought to us, one of the slices was not what we asked for. I spoke with Carlos, the manager, and he went above and beyond to make things right, even giving me more than that we ordered or paid for. He was apologetic, professional, friendly, and genuinely concerned that our experience was a positive one. I’m very impressed with Carlos and Surf Rider pizza!

Fun trivia night on Wednesday’s. The surf rider pizza was very good!! Thin crust style pizza that’s crispy and flavorful. Came to this spot after the gym to watch some playoff baseball and this place honestly has some of the best pizza in San Diego. Slices are large and generous in portion and they offer other things like garlic knots, salads, and wings. TVs all around and a bar on the other side for that sports bar feel. Outside area is also abundant for those bigger groups
They have this really good deal for two slices and a fountain drink or 16oz beer for around $16.00 before tip.
Finally, downtown in general has a lot of other bars you can hit after if you’re looking to bar crawl.
