WOW! We’re from South Florida and Astoria was one of our cruise port stops. I read about Surf2Soul online. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! The service was excellent! Jordan, the owner was friendly and personable! The serving sizes were great! There were picnic tables to enjoy the food! I would highly recommend if you’re ever in Astoria to make your way to Surf2Soul! It’s Everything! We had the shrimp and cheesy grits, the shrimp po’ boy and the hush puppies with homemade apple butter! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!

This cute little food shack was the perfect spot for our vacation. I had looked it up when searching for a place to eat and I was drawn in by the Cajun mac. When we got there, we were greeted and taken care of in a quick and friendly manner a d the food didn’t take long enough. We didn’t sit far in the food court and you can smell it which only added to the anticipation of it all. We had the Apple Hushpuppies with Honey Butter, Cajun Mac and the Chicken N Biscuit. Everything was absolutely delicious, ESPECIALLY those apple hushpuppies, that man in the shack knows what he’s doing! Compliments, compliments, compliments! If you’re in the area you definitely gotta try this place!

Better be hungry or have someone to share with when you go here! Chef Jordan was nice and whipped up the food hot and fresh. It was amazing and unique! I wanted to try the apple hush puppies but didn’t have room.

So my folks and I went the day before Thanksgiving. The man working inside was very friendly and generous. I had a 10 minute or so wait for my food. When I went back for the hush puppies, the wait was longer because I came after a small group order so I ended up standing for a while in the rain. Unfortunately there was nowhere to get out of the weather, and nowhere to sit either. Not much to look at, busy street, lots of traffic.
But the food was excellent, just as everyone said! The hush puppies were maybe slightly overcooked, but I came in just before closing and after a large order so that is probably why. He did give me an extra one, and the honey butter that came with it was amazing! Though I was soaked straight through, I think it was worth it.
The first order was perfect. The chicken was tender on the inside and just a bit crispy on the outside. The mac and cheese tasted very good. Everyone enjoyed the food. It is a little rich, so keep that in mind if you go here, as it may affect your stomach. I was only able to eat half of my meal, which was awesome, because I had leftovers to enjoy later!

The food was phenomenal. Definitely did not disappoint. We had the Stack Mac, Po Boy sandwich, fried pickles, hush puppies and peach cobbler. Next time we’re back in Astoria, we’re eating here again. Thank you man for the delicious food.

Wow! We were not expecting this food to be so delicious! Our po boys were fantastic the servings were more generous than expected. So glad we stopped by to try this on our way out.
Also if you like pickles the fried pickles are maybe the best we’ve ever had! The pickles themselves tasted home made and great on their own, but the seasoned batter and sauces made it even better! High recommend and this place deserves all the stars!

The guy that runs it is fantastic. He has great customer service and wasn’t mad at us for showing up 20 minutes before he was closing. The food was fantastic. It was called “whitch came first” it was an amazing chicken sandwich that had waffles as the bread. More food then I could eat. I had leftovers.

Ordered a rice and red bean burger, fries, hush puppies and my girlfriend ordered chicken and waffles.
The challenge with red beans and rice as a burger, is you gotta come up with the flavor. And oh my goodness, the flavor is amazing!
Salt, sweet, crunch, avocado, hot bread, stretchy cheese, with a wild pickle punch in hidden bites!
The fries are natural cut, seasoned, and not. I repeat, not soggy! They were firm, had a good crunch, I didn’t even need the ketchup that came with it.
I wasn’t able to eat the whole thing, and it made for a great dinner as well. (It reheats well)
The hush puppies with the honey butter… it was like eating an apple fritter inside a hush puppy.
Truly a great twist on a southern classic
Please give this place a try, anything and everything on the menu I’m sure is amazing. I mean, if you can make a red beans and rice burger taste that amazing. You can’t go wrong with anything at this place.
