This is a cute restaurant in the heart of DuPont Circle. Hidden in a corner basement. Atmosphere was calm and relaxing, but patrons tables seem too close together. One staff serving but every item came right on time and no mistakes noted.
Restaurant was clean…including restrooms…
To the food- every meal had a nice and upgraded taste to it. No overwhelming spice…enjoyed every meal and will definitely be back

We had such a great dinner in this restaurant. Food was very very tasty. Service was awesome. Salmon Crudo was my favorite. We ordered Lychee Martinis. Chilli Noodles also very good. Recommended.

The food was prepared with care and good flavor. SURA brings unique flavors (street food inspired by Thai-Chinese food in Bangkok’s Chinatown) that aren’t like typical offerings at typical Thai-American restaurants. Everything was very good, although nothing entirely stood out. Still greatly recommend those who enjoy Thai food to come try SURA for something unique!

Had a great time here for an early date dinner on a Saturday night. We had reservations for 6pm so we were one of the first tables in the place, but by the time we left the restaurant was full for good reason. Food was great and fast (probably in part because we were early), and our service was very attentive. Refilled a beer multiple times from the table and my water never ran dry. Definitely recommended.

Everything was delicious! Very unique items that I usually haven’t seen in many Thai restaurants. The salt and pepper tofu, chilled mushrooms and shrimp Kari rice were my favorites. We were a group of 3 and shared everything family style. We ordered 2 appetizers and 3 mains to share and felt it was the perfect amount. Our waiter was very friendly and helped suggest some items as well.

Absolutely fantastic service; we came in without a reservation and they happily and quickly accommodated us. Our waters were constantly refilled before they were even half empty and the staff were quick to answer questions and give recommendations. The restaurant was lively, with vibey music and fashionable lighting. The food was delivered quickly and tasted amazing with a complex flavor profile. Would return again.

Shockingly delicious food hidden away in a basement restaurant. Absolutely worth the visit. Always a pleasure to find a place that is able to make gluten free and vegan swaps that actually taste amazing!

We had a wonderful meal at Sura. We started with the Black Mushrooms. And had several other dishes (that I can’t actually remember the names of them) that were all fantastic. There were dumplings and an excellent crudo. They have a secret menu that you have to ask about… we ordered it, Chicken Curry, it too was really good.
Of all the items ordered, I loved the mushrooms best. The photo I have of them is blurry, which is too bad. They were delicately prepared with a tangy dressing.
Decent service, he was a bit too bent on getting us to order the most expensive menu items.
The food came out of the kitchen incredibly fast.
Gratuity was automatically included. The first time I’d seen the practice but I really liked it. I always overtime anyway, so this takes the math out of it.
We would definitely visit again. Highly recommend!
