Lord have mercy! I’m so happy we’ve found our new Barbecue home!! We hit up Mr.Dave after I spotted him on Instagram and I must say, we’ve been sleeping on him. Barbecue taste so good, and seasoned so well, it will make you wanna slap somebody … We fell through and I tell you, from the sausage to the ribs, to the chicken plates we ordered was a slam dunk, and a home run all in one. The greet and hospitality given was such a pleasure by him and his partner. We knew when we pulled up and smelled his Barbecue it would taste delicious. … My husband ate his sausage and then wanted mine, and I had to turn him down with ‘Nope’

I called to check if Dave was serving food because he is a roadside, weekend vendor who barbecues in a parking lot. He was on his way to buy more meat to cook, so I put in a request for beef ribs and chicken. Later, Dave called me to give me a heads up when the food was going to be ready. When I arrived, Dave greeted me with a welcoming smile and let me know that the food was almost ready. He wanted to cook it a little longer to make sure the ribs were tender.I chatted with other people hanging out with Dave, and it was quite friendly, like I was at a friend’s backyard cook out. Anyway, the price for all the food I got was very reasonable. When I got home, I was pleased to find that the chicken and ribs had a good, smoky flavor. I plan to be trying Dave’s brisket next weekend.

A little background: I am a cashier at an Alief area grocery store where Dave sometimes comes in to shop, and always smelling of the enticing aroma of smoke… bbq, that is… makes-you-hungry-for-it-now kinda smell!! He came through my register on Saturday, and Sunday morning I woke up craving bbq. So off hubby and I went on a beautiful afternoon drive for some Q and we weren’t disappointed (except that the brisket was gonna be another 2 hours, but we’ll go back for that!) We each ordered the rib plate, and after a sample of his homemade beef sausage, ordered a half link as well. All I can say is AWESOME!! The ribs were tender, juicy, and full of great flavor and smoke. The sausage is to DIE FOR!! Perfect meaty chunky texture (not processed too finely) and a nice garlic and spicy flavor!!
Not only does Dave know his craft and has a real passion for doing it, he is an all around nice man!! He enjoys conversing with his customers, and treats them like family! Thank you Dave and your lady for a wonderful day, beautiful delicious food, and your warmth!! Hope to see you again soon, both at the store and your bbq stand!! Love y’all!
