The most egregious display of poor service occurred when I called to place a take-out order. I began by politely inquiring if they served Chinese porridge (congee), as I was hoping to find a comforting meal for my sick daughter.
The employee who answered immediately snapped, “We don’t serve that, you called the wrong number,” and abruptly hung up.
This lack of basic customer service is astonishing. Instead of a simple “I’m sorry, we don’t carry that item, but is there anything else I can help you with?” I was met with instant dismissal. Crucially, I was prepared to place a substantial order for several other main dishes, but the employee’s extreme rudeness and immediate hang-up ensured that the restaurant lost the entire sale. They didn’t even give me a second to correct them or state my actual order.
A restaurant should not only offer quality food but also demonstrate respect for its patrons. Based on this pattern of consistent discourtesy and a complete failure to engage with a customer, I have made the firm decision that I will never return to this establishment. I strongly recommend avoiding this place until management addresses their severe and ongoing customer service deficiencies.
I couldn’t give this place a five star for atmosphere but def they have great friendly customer service.
The waiter came by and checked on me several times. He said this business is opened by a couple for over 20 years and he himself has worked here for over 20 years.
Not only that, he asked if I was a neighbor of the area which I am not but it seems like he’s constantly looking for neighbors within the outer sunset area. Really friendly guy. You will know who I’m talking about if you go ever go there.
The uncle who runs the place is pretty friendly and charming to EVERYONE too (also uncommon for Chinese restos for non-Chinese speaking diners)!
My wife and I were staying in the Sunset area for a quick touring visit to S.F. and picked out this spot. Not fancy but saw that the clientele appeared to be all “locals” so figured it should be good and it was. Our waiter was great, accommodating and the food was good. We will definitely go back on our next stay in the area.
Could’ve just tell me that they’re busy and order will take 30 mins. Instead of just flat out telling me to go away ♀️
Been a loyal customers for years because we live close by. I guess they don’t want our business anymore. Good riddance!
