The food here is usually good, and the best diner in the area by far but lately theyve gotten really lazy. Normally when you order banana pancakes the bananas are INSIDE the pancakes not just on top?? Or when you get scrambled eggs with cheese the cheese is folded into the eggs not just slapped on top after? what the heck is this? Do better, will not be going back anytime soon, might as well go to annas kitchen if i want this kind of food.

How lucky are we to have Sunset Diner so close to us that it’s our go to diner?! I didn’t realize I’ve never posted about it. It’s such a great place, with good food and great people working there!
We went (again) this week and had breakfast and lunch. Yogurt and fresh fruit, perfect side of bacon, and a steak sandwich. Delicious! Not shown, the most perfectly moist blueberry muffin with a crumb top. Toasted! So good!
The restaurant is large, with tables and booths and counter space. Accessible ♿️, lots of regulars and families. Waitstaff is patient and attentive. Extensive menu with lots of healthy options.

As a first time New Jersey diner experiencer there was a certain hype behind this experience and I couldn’t be sure what exactly to expect. I loved the boisterous servers. The coffee was strong and good, and the pancakes were some of the best I’ve had. I must admit the menu is nauseating with the amount of choices barely organized, and hardly anything without meat. My biggest complaint is that it was much too warm in the diner

Just happen to be in the area and it had great reviews so we went to check it out. The waitress was excellent, friendly, attentive, quick and efficient. The food was delicious and great portions for breakfast because as a retired server, I know what two eggs look like when they’re scrambled in comparison to one place you go to it’s clearly not two eggs, my husband loved the French toast. Hostile old red haired waitress makes sure the world knows how much she hates her life, her job, and everyone she encounters. Her lousy “service” is the reason I will never return to this diner. She is in the wrong line of work. Food quality is hit or miss, served slow and cold with heaps of snotty attitude. Never again!

Terrible service overall, especially from the redheaded waitress with glasses who seemed more interested in belittling customers than doing her job. If yelling at a delivery driver makes you feel powerful, that says more about your character than anything else. Respect goes both ways—learn some.
On top of that, this place consistently has long wait times and the food always arrives cold. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Classic Jersey diner in all the best ways! Friendly service, incredible pancakes, and truly fantastic breakfast potatoes. The ultimate comfort food experience awaits you at Sunset Diner. My only critique is that it was very hot inside, and the heat took away from the overall experience.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast and it was good. Cheddar & Bacon omelette, breakfast potatoes, rye toast and coffee. It was good breakfast, great service and quick. Well worth a try. Will go back again.
