We went mid afternoon with no reservations. All the tables were reserved for sunset, but there was plenty of room prior to that and they were able to seat us right away. The food was great and the live music was fabulous!

The place offers an amazing view of the bay and creates a very pleasant atmosphere overall. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our stay. While the service was solid, the breakfast options were limited and could benefit from more variety. Despite that, the experience was enjoyable, mainly due to the views and the quality of service.

So the food was ok the service was ok and the atmosphere was awesome. We ate ok but then it was time for the check. We gave more themn 1000 peso tip. But it was not enough. Thats more then 5x the average salary of a waiter. We needed to pay 2800+. Unbelievable greedy owners. Cant imagine who is keeping all that money. Ok food nice atmosphere greedy greedy people. The person said the restaurant suggests 15% no they demand. He brought his calculator to show what we needed to pay unbelievably rude.

I was a little leery of going here because of some of the reviews but after going for breakfast Thursday at 9:15 in the morning I can say that people that say it’s the nicest place to eat in all of San Carlos are correct! My breakfast casserole and my wife’s chilaquiles were top-notch! The location which seems like it might be a little cold being right on the beach was absolutely perfect! We sat right on the cusp of being outside and it was glorious even though the day was a little cloudy. My eggs were cooked absolutely perfectly and I can tell there’s a lot of attention going into the food at Sunset Grill. I will also include photos of the menu with all the drinks on it. But the biggest surprise was probably the service which is the best and I mean the absolute best I’ve ever had in the entire world! I’ve been to Europe and Australia and all of Central America, China and Japan, and all over the USA, so this is saying a lot! I’m not sure what it would be like if the place was really crowded but since it was sparse when we were there I can say you will be very well pleased if you go for breakfast. We heard that portions were small but this is not the case they were very ample. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious and highly recommended. Went there twice on our stay in San Carlos because it was one of the better places to go. The coffee was delicious and the tres leches cake with ice cream was the reason we went back the second time and ended up eating again. Friendly staff, delicious food and right by the beach. Also LIVE MUSIC ON THE WEEKENDS!!!

I’ve heard really good things about this place but after finally visiting it didn’t live up to its rep.
Con’s – services was slow and food was ok but pricey for what you get.
Pro’s – the views and access to one of the best beaches in San Carlos is unmatched. Some of the best sunsets and the live music is amazing.
If I want great views and beach access this is a great place to go but if good food is what your looking for there are definitely better options.

Our first time here and it was magical. Its a bar/restaurant and the floor is the sand. We were seated right in front of the live trova band. The picaña was sizzling, the garlic shrimp was awesome. We had a great time.

People who knew a staff member were seated before us. Food is ok, nothing special. Beach views are fantastic.
To the owner: no, the people seated ahead of us did not have a reservation. They were right behind us in being told there was a wait. After waiting for 30 minutes, a staff member saw them, they clearly knew each other, and indicated he’d to get them seated right away and then took them to a table and we continued to wait.
You might want to consider not blaming the reviewer but instead use it as a learning experience to make your restaurant better.
