Our party of 8 each enjoyed their food. Prices on menu items were a little high for me (photo of menu attached) so I was thankful that they had some specials.
Parking was surprisingly easy to find. There is a parking deck, but many of us found free street parking on this Nov Thursday night.
I would say that the restaurant is a little louder at night and so it can be hard to hear everybody, but other elements of the atmosphere there were very nice. I liked the lighting and the tropical beach scenes on the screens.
They just have the one table for larger parties. It’s really a better place to bring a smaller group (but if you have a reservation, feel free to bring a big party because they do have the one big table ). Lots of tall tables for couples and three ~8 top booths.
Several of the girls said that their GPS apps did not take them to the right location- but took them somewhere else nearby.
The beach burger was OK. Big healthy slice of pineapple on it. I think the girls who ordered the Poké bowls enjoyed them immensely.
The avocado bruschetta was fantastic. Extremely flavorful and I loved it.
We began with the Wagyu Sliders, which were rich, juicy, and topped just right…a perfect little bite to kick things off. The Sunburst Tuna Tartare was equally impressive, bright and fresh with mango and pineapple notes.
For my entrée, I went with the Miso Black Cod…tender, silky, and beautifully glazed, with a subtle citrus lift. My partner had the Hawaiian Ribeye, grilled to a perfect medium-rare, with tropical marinades that elevated the steak without overpowering it.
We also enjoyed coconut rice and island-glazed mushrooms on the side…both flavorful and excellent complements.
Let’s talk drinks: the cocktail menu is creative and the execution was spot-on. Our drinks were refreshing, balanced, and beautifully presented. They really know how to craft a perfect cocktail to match the food and vibe.
To end the night, we indulged in the Black Cherry Ricotta Cheesecake…creamy, just sweet enough, and a lovely finish.
Everything…from the pacing to the service to the plating — felt thoughtfully done. The flavors were bold where they should be and delicate where they needed to be. Sunset Alpharetta doesn’t just deliver a meal, it delivers an experience.
If you’re in Alpharetta and want to treat yourself, this place is absolutely worth it. We’ll be back.
To start, we tried the avocado bruschetta and lemon pepper calamari — both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For the main course, I ordered the Tropical Poke Bowl (which is indeed on their menu) — it featured sashimi-grade yellowfin tuna, avocado, edamame, cucumber, mango, and their sriracha aioli over coconut rice. My partner had the Thai Chili Glazed Salmon, and it was cooked to perfection with a vibrant glaze.
We also enjoyed some excellent cocktails and drinks — the bar has a creative menu with everything from a Daydream Paloma to a Sunset Coconut Tiki Punch. The mixology was on point: balanced, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the meal.
For dessert, the Black Cherry Ricotta Cheesecake and Toasted Pineapple Ice Cream rounded things out in style.
What impressed us most was the consistency — every dish was composed thoughtfully, the flavors were bold yet balanced, and the pacing was just right (no rushing, no long waits). The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole experience felt seamless.
If you want a place in Alpharetta with both elevated cuisine and fun flair, Sunset Alpharetta is a gem. We can’t wait to go back.
If you like, I can tweak the review more (e.g. emphasize the drink experience further) or craft a version for Google or Yelp. Do you want me to prepare that?
We tried the Cheesesteak Eggrolls and Wagyu Meatballs—
For drinks, the Splash, Splash, Splash cocktail was a very good ! Thanks to Franchesca …
Overall, everything felt thoughtfully made, and the service was just as good as the food and drinks. Big thanks to Brandon for making our visit even more enjoyable—we’ll definitely be back!
The food was really less than unimpressive. For the price on the appetizers alone, you would expect something exciting.
The Philly rolls were weird. It was just steak and cheese in a fried wrap. The steak was grey in color. It was supposed to come with a sweet Thai chili sauce but we got this flavorless brown gravy sauce? The firecracker shrimp was ok. Just 7 little pieces of shrimp for $17.
The wings looked delicious. The coconut shrimp was served in a tiny bowl and there were 4 tiny shrimps for $18. All we could do was just laugh at that point. The grouper and fries was just okay. Nothing extraordinary about this place other than the aesthetics.
Please improve your menu and presentations if you are going to charge so much for so little.
