The staff deserves an immediate spotlight. They greet you like you’ve been coming there for years, even if you wandered in for the first time with sleepy eyes and coffee on your mind. They’re quick with refills, kind with conversation, and somehow always know exactly what you need before you ask — the kind of service that makes you want to stay for “just one more cup.”
As for the food, Sunshine lives up to its name there too. The breakfast classics hit all the right notes: fluffy eggs, perfectly crisp bacon, golden pancakes, and biscuits that taste like they were baked with love and maybe just a wink of island magic. Everything arrives hot, fresh, and with that homemade quality you can’t fake. Even the simplest dishes shine — nothing fussy, nothing overdone, just really good food made by people who care.
The atmosphere ties it all together. It’s cozy without feeling cramped, colorful without feeling busy, and welcoming without trying too hard. There’s an easy charm to it — the kind of place where locals settle into their regular booth, families gather for weekend breakfast, and travelers stumble in and immediately wonder why their own hometown doesn’t have a spot this sweet.
In short, Sunshine Restaurant is exactly what it promises to be: warm, bright, friendly, and delicious. Whether you need a cheerful breakfast, a comforting lunch, or just a little pick-me-up for your day, this Wilmington Island gem delivers every time.
A plate full of Sunshine? Yes, please.
The adage of wanting something done well, done cheaply, and done quickly ends with “you can pick 2 of those” bit somehow Sunrise nails all 3.
I had the shrimp and grits a few weeks ago and it was ok, I could have done without the bell peppers; it was too much, overwhelming flavor.
This morning I had the Tybee Omelet…it was really good. Perhaps try adding a hollandaise sauce to the menu item, I think it would work really well on this omelet.
The coffee is really good too.
New trip to Savannah…ate here 3 days in a row! My fav breakfast place in Savannah.
