I went to brunch with my family here today and we had a great time!! The food was excellent as well as the drinks. We tried the French toast, the veggie burrito, and the enchiladas and all were great! I would HIGHLY recommend the enchiladas with white sauce, best enchilada I’ve ever had. Loved the vibes of the place too, will definitely be going back soon! (Picture is of the veggie burrito, also really good!)

We went here looking for a new breakfast place to try, I’m soooo glad we did! It was so delicious, the staff was very attentive, atmosphere was relaxed and loved every minute of it! The orange juice was delicious, did not taste like the store bought stuff. I got a crab omelette with the potatoes (my husband kept stealing them). …. We will be coming back for sure!

Sunrise on 39th has become one of my favorite brunch spots. The food is consistently great, the service is friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe just feels easy and welcoming. It’s the kind of place you can settle in and actually enjoy your morning.
The chilaquiles are always a solid choice and the cocktails have consistently been great! A dependable, feel-good brunch spot that I keep coming back to – I’ve been 10 times now!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Ive been here twice and both times they did not disappoint! I LOVE this place. Food is absolutely delicious. Salsa is not spicy (in my opinion but im mexican so i like it HOT) but very flavorful. So something EVERYONE can enjoy. They do have other hot sauce on the side if you want that kick. I was served by Angel and he is so great (deserves a raise) ….He also helped me last time (about 6 months ago) and both times he was very nice and helpful. If you get him, be sure to tip well ❤️ …. I always ask for drink recommendations and he suggested the prickly pear margarita. Another must have! Its so delicious, can definitely taste the liquor but flavor has a perfect sweetness. Food was… omg… it tasted as good as it looked. Atmosphere is very calming. A good first date or regular breakfast spot. Oh and they box your food up for you! Just a small courtesy that is highly appreciated.

The food and staff service are amazing. The menu is a blend of traditional and Mexican breakfast food, with a few sandwiches for brunch/lunch. As it’s a 39th Street-facing business, both parking and seating are limited. Also the ceiling in the dining area is very high and no soundproofing, so the noise will get pretty loud. All in all though, we will always come back.

Went here with some friends and it was amazing! Chai tea was some of the best I’ve ever had. Service was quick and friendly. Our server knew what to do and when to do it. Didn’t catch his name, but he was excellent.
Food was delicious, had the burrito ranchero and my friends all got something different they also loved.
Atmosphere was cozy and laid back.
10/10 will eat again.

Sunrise is a great addition to the 39th Street area as it has needed a brunch spot forever! The addition of the menu mainly being focused around Mexican dishes makes it that much better. During our visit, their liquor license had not been renewed (it’s in the mail so soon), but that not being able to have a brunch cocktail it was a great experience.
Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and kind to help guide us through the menu. I am dairy free, and the staff had no issues accommodating.
The decor is fun and vibrant, which made brunch that much more fun! We will absolutely be coming back.

The service was really great. I really didn’t have to wait on anything. I got the tequila sunrise mimosa and Philly cheesesteak omelet. Now the Mimosa, perfect! But the Philly omelet, I don’t recommend it. It came with a 1/2 slice of cheese on the top then maybe the other half inside. The vegetables were not fresh. My daughter got the traditional breakfast very bland. For $15 a meal my tastebuds did not get the “wow” I was looking for. However, the view is nice. The large windows works perfect for the busy street it’s on. The parking west is a bit small but no issues getting out.

I came to visit KC from out of town, and I really enjoyed this place! There menu combines a mix of American favorites and the authenticity of Mexican cuisine. I ordered the green chilaquiles with chicken, and my friend got the red chilaquiles with beef, along with a side of French toast. They also add a cilantro creamy sauce to their chilaquiles, which added a unique and nice flavor overall. I tried other coffee from around the area, but it wasn’t great; however, their iced coffee was delicious. I love how the windows are wide and clear, letting sunlight in while you eat, but it’s not overwhelming. They have excellent customer service, and it’s such a cozy spot overall. I’ll definitely be back again!
