Our office moved to a new location back in June, so I’ve been on the hunt for new lunch spots in the area. I tend to eat out quite a bit, so one day I jumped on Google and searched for diners near me. Sunrise Café popped up with tons of great reviews, and many people mentioned how attentive the owner is and how great the food is. After finally stopping in, I can say those reviews were absolutely right.
The food here is fantastic. I ordered the Big Sunrise, which comes with three eggs (I got mine over medium), a big slice of ham, two pieces of bacon, and two sausage patties. For my sides I went with white toast and grits. I have to say, grits are definitely an acquired taste, but lately I’ve been loving them and these were really good.
The waitress was also spot on—super attentive and friendly. Overall the service was excellent and the food was even better.
My only small “complaint,” and it’s really no fault of theirs, is that inside the restaurant my cell phone had almost no signal. It was basically a dead zone, so I had to actually sit there and live in the moment instead of scrolling the internet on my phone. Kind of funny because the second I walked outside to my car, I had a full signal again. Not sure what’s going on there, but honestly it just gave me more time to enjoy the food.

It’s the kind of place you’d want to be a regular. The service and attentiveness of the staff were phenomenal. The food was great and served quickly. My coffee was never empty. Even the owner checked in on the patrons during their meals. Can’t wait to go back.

Omelets are their specialty, flat or fluffy. They offer fresh OJ and pure maple syrup. Food is excellent and service spot on.

A gem of a diner! Our waitress Lana was wonderful- very attentive and kind. I had the gluten-free pancakes which were tasty and a very generous portion. I also had a side of bacon that was absolutely perfect – nice, crispy, and thick-cut. My boyfriend had an omelet that was delicious and well-packed with its fillings. We’ll be sure to stop by again if we’re in the area.

A great little diner in a compact space. Very efficient and quick service. We ordered avacado toast with eggs on the side sunny side up, and Detroit omelette. Both were excellent. I loved their caddy on each table which was generously filled with butter, jam and creamers etc. Would definitely recommend.

This review is long overdue! We’ve been dining here for years and have never been disappointed.
My husband met a friend for breakfast and brought me my favorite dish: a spinach, feta cheese, black olive, and mushroom omelet . It came with crispy bacon and hash brown potatoes as well! I was able to get two meals out of it and still have enough leftovers for breakfast tomorrow.
The waitstaff, especially Lena, and the cooks are all friendly and efficient. Sunrise Cafe is a hidden gem!

It’s tables crowded together, but such a warm welcoming vibe from entrance and greeting to the attention given. Even the to-go orders were guided and customized.
I’m vegetarian, plenty of choices for me. But vegans might not find anything for them.
I am picky and each of my questions was patiently answered and my choice served exactly as I requested!
The coffee was perfect, strong but not bitter, piping hot and refreshed often.
We also were tempted to add-on, hot chocolate for me and hash browns for my friend, yet there was no delay.
The portions are large. I would have been happy with a smaller ‘senior’ option!!

Sunrise staff was super nice and willing to talk to me about dietary restrictions (gluten and dairy free). They had options for both listed on the menu (inluding gf pancakes). I got the corned beef hash and it was tasty. They had gluten free bread too! Would definitely go there again!
