When the original server finally came back, she took our order in a way that felt rushed and indifferent, even snatching the menus from us. While the food itself was fine, her behavior felt disrespectful. To make matters worse, she brought us the check while we were still eating, without us asking, which felt like a hint that we should leave immediately. It would have been far more respectful to wait until we were finished or at least ask if we were ready for the bill.
After reading other reviews, it seems rude behavior from servers may be common here. The server who attended us may have been named Shawnee, as mentioned on my bill, though I could be mistaken. Given this experience, I’ll not be returning.
After getting seated we were greeted quickly. The menu is big and I wanted to try it all. I ended up doing their pumpkin pancakes, potatoes, eggs, and sausage. My husband had Huevos rancheros and a pancake.
Coffee was great, loved it all. The potatoes were a favorite! The pancakes had crispy edges and it was delicious.
Definitely recommend checking this place out.
Second and third photo is dinner.. YES I went back for dinner because it was that darn good!. The cocktail is a rosemary whiskey sour as the card says behind it. ABSOLUTELY fantastic cocktail. I had two.
As for dinner I had a buffalo Vicks burger. As it states on the menu “A true chef’s choice garbage burger! Please mention anything you definitely DO NOT want on your burger! Anything goes with the Vick Burger!”
It was absolutely fantastic. The extras he stuck on were artichoke, roasted red peppers pickles carrots, tomato, and spinach. The side is their potato soup loaded . I can’t say enough or am I really able to describe the flavor of everything. It just shows someone knows where their doing in that kitchen.
Atmosphere had cool vibes and staff were friendly and on top of it both breakfast and dinner. Id definitely have an issue going there every if I didn’t live 2 hours away!!
Great service and relaxing atmosphere. I had the Classico Pasta. Delicious. You can tell they use quality ingredients.
Also had a dirty Martini, quite enjoyable.
My husband and I got the Ohio Wagyu Hamburger (15) and the Traditional Irish Lemon Pancakes (12.50 for 3) with a side of Sunrise Potatoes. These pancakes were perfectly cooked with crunchy ends and a lovely lemon zest. If you’re looking for somewhere new that everyone can enjoy… try Sunrise Cafe in Yellow Springs. You will not be disappointed!
…and their Ginger Whiskey Sour is a MUST!
