Sunnys cafe comfort food with a southern swing, formerly known as Good Time Charlie’s. The wife and I decided we would give sunnys a shot since good times didn’t last very long. We ordered the fried mushrooms, which they were pretty tasty. My wife ordered the Philly cheese steak special and I got got the club sandwich. The Philly was good a little different than the standard cheese steak. Instead of real cheese they used some sort of cheese sauce, when it came to the steak it had an excellent flavor, all in all my wife enjoyed the Philly cheese steak. Now when it came to the club sandwich I was not impressed. Every turkey club sandwich I have tried always has a third piece of bread in in the middle, separating each ingredient in a unique order that gives it that signature club sandwich taste, not sure if that is the southern swing. Secondly the turkey was a generic deli sliced turkey, tasted like store brand packaged deli meats. Now the menu says oven roasted turkey. When I see oven roasted turkey on the menu, I’m thinking fresh oven roasted turkey breast sliced thick in house. Definitely would not recommend there club sandwich. The French fries are frozen crinkle cut, unsalted and unseasoned. The ketchup was very generic, definitely not heinz ketchup. There ranch dressing on the other hand was very good, I’d like to say its made in house, but cannot verify 100%. The atmosphere was pretty good, there was alot of people enjoying lunch other than the previous restaurant. Layout and decor was nice, made it feel like a comfortable family friendly place to eat. Servers were good friendly and very helpful. We will be coming back to try there version of a cheddar bacon burger. Hopefully they can beat good times cheddar bacon burger, it was the best burger in dayton in my opinion. Plus we do like to support our local businesses….

Wife and I came for breakfast and I must say they have the best breakfast in town. There biscuts and gravy are excellent, im pretty sure there biscuts are homemade in house, super soft and the gravy was just delightful. Wife the denver omelet, it was cooked to perfection. I had the morning rooster meal which consists of two eggs linguica and hash browns. The linguica was definitely the real deal the eggs were fried to perfection. I always order an English muffin burnt with real butter, every place that I ask for an English muffin burnt cant get it right, I have to send it back for them to toast it some more, sunnys cafe is first place to burn my English muffin on the first try I was very impressed. Keep up the good work.

Love the food, got the Texan burger with the potato salad and it was great. Everyone of of the staff is friendly and make you feel welcomed. This was me second time there and have not complaints. Even when it is busy it is still great. The potato salad taste just like how my mom makes it. There burger sauce is good too. The burger patty is 1/3 lb and it does make a difference. 100 out of 10 is my rating

I moved to Dayton roughly 14 months ago and I was complaining to a Reno friend today that Dayton needs more restaurants, especially since our only breakfast/ lunch restaurant in Dayton recently closed. Then I remembered getting a coupon recently for Sunny’s cafe, also in Dayton, but on the east end of town.
I ordered the ham steak and macaroni & cheese to go and it was delicious, just what I needed. If my Mom knew I didn’t have any greens/ small salad with my meal, she would have been disappointed with me, but my hankering for pork and carbs was definitely satisfied!! It was good food at a reasonable price!!

My boyfriend and I decided to try Sunny’s for the first time. First, when we walked in, Kara looked at us and didn’t come up to us to greet us. It took her a couple of minutes to actually come up to us to take seat us. I had asked if we could sit in a different section other than hers, she proceeded to look at me, give me a dirty look, sigh and say “i guess”. She sat us in Taya’s section. Taya came up to us with a smile interacted with my boyfriend and I and my baby niece and we brought with us. The entire time she was very consistent with refilling our drinks and checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and was doing okay. The food was really good and great customer service from Taya no matter how many other tables she had. She’s amazing and I saw her interacting with the other children she had in her section as well. It’s nice to come in and see someone that doesn’t give me a dirty look when i ask for another section other than hers and get really good customer service. I will be there again and always ask for Taya if she’s available. I’m only giving this a 4 star because of the first interaction I had with Kara before we even sat down. Everything else besides that is a 5 star rating even our server!

This place is all about comfort! The staff is kind and inviting. The dining room is newly remodeled, clean and cozy. And of the course there is the comfort food. Big portions, well prepared and tastes great. If you want a fantastic meal in a comfy atmosphere while you’re in Dayton, give this place a try. You’ll come back over and over again!

Everyone friendly food is nice and hot when you get it I had the open face turkey sandwich so much food. I had to take some home with me. I have had text burger. He only got to eat half of it before he got full. He had the homemade potato salad, which was Great. Plan to come back the food is excellent and the people are fantastic.

Kyla greeted us at the front door with a welcome and a smile. She is a stellar waitress, very professional, always smiling. We felt like a part of the family. Food was phenomenal and delicious! This is a gem in this little small town! Atmosphere was a like a farm country vibe which added to the experience, service and food! Definitely worth coming back and loves military!! Veterans if you are in the area stop on by and see these great people and great food!
