If you haven’t made your way to Sunn Cafe in Mount Horeb yet — go. Like, now.
This place checks all the boxes:
✔ Cozy, open space with big windows and real charm
✔ Local art and thoughtful touches everywhere you look
✔ The kind of tables you want to sit at for hours
✔ And yes — the food is as good as it looks
I went in for lunch with my pastor, and everything about it was easy, warm, and just what I didn’t know I needed. I had the spinach salad with fresh strawberries, goat cheese, almonds, and microgreens (total flavor bomb), and she had the toasted turkey sandwich — that thing smelled amazing and looked even better.
Service? Friendly and fast, but not rushed. The kind of place where you feel like they actually want you to be there.
Sunn Cafe — you’ve got a fan. I’ll be back.

Made a trip to Mt. Horeb for a short visit this morning. Was looking for a breakfast/brunch place and found Sunn Cafe and decided to try it out.
Things I liked:
a) Staff members were very friendly and accommodating.
b) Gluten free bread for sandwiches and toast.
c) Unsweetened iced tea (strawberry/peach flavor was very good!)
d) LGBTQ+ friendly
e) Lots of seating options inside and out
f) Comfortable and roomy environment
g) Food was tasty. All items were enjoyable. We had the Avocado Toast (GF bread), Breakfast Sandwich (GF bread), Grilled Cheese with side of Broccoli Cheddar Soup.
Suggestions for improvement:
a) Took quite awhile for our food to come out.
b) Recommend including sides with breakfast items (fruit or greens).
Would definitely come here again. Did not try the coffee drinks.

They can carry wide variety of drinks but didn’t have unsweetened ice tea. They did though have bottomless cups of good black coffee. Their roast beef in The Beast sandwich seemed to be standard luncheon meat roast beef and not fresh brisket. Friendly staff and very busy at lunch time as it is very popular place.

I am a huge freak for toasted sandwiches, and this place is the absolute best I’ve ever had.
The bread is toasted to perfection, the cheese melts oh so nicely, and all the fresh ingredients bring a very important flavor to the table!
I heard this place is closing soon, and I’m heartbroken. Every sandwich I’ve had from here has quickly become my new favorite sandwich of all time.
Thank you for the memories, the great food, and the cozy vibes. I will remember you always. <3

Stopped here from Appleton after a trip to Cave on the Mounds. Had an amazing sandwich and tomato soup! Great and healthy options.

The big ol bagel sandwich is AMAZING. We came for breakfast 2 days in a row while visiting just to have it. Breakfast burrito is also super tasty. The staff are friendly and attentive. Inviting atmosphere all around. Can’t wait to return!

My favorite spot for a sandwich! Try the Sunn Slayer for a delicious vegetarian nosh – it’s my fave. Celiac Spouse loves the Club, on GF bread, untoasted (so it doesn’t touch the shared panini press). Get a seasonal fruit bar (gluten free!) to round out your meal, and try an Arnold Palmer in the summer (made with local tea from the tea shop down the street). If ordering takeout for lunch, place your order by 11 and pickup before noon – this spot gets busy!

We really enjoyed the positive vibe at the cafe. The food was amazing. The freshest salad and tastiest homemade dressing I have ever eaten. Homemade dessert to die for! Very clean! Top quality every thing and the Owner’s and staff are gems! We definitely will be back!

The seasonal beet hummus wrap was fairly yummy but could have benefited from a spattering of herbs to compliment the feta & hummus. Perhaps a bit more garlic/tahini in the hummus. That said, I had the wrap sans the turkey. Still delicious, though. It came with a side of nice kettle chips that could be substituted with a side salad for a bit more. Overall, great lunch. Nice outdoor seating in back!

Delicious. Enjoy unique foods. Thankfully, there is no deep fried food at all. Just fresh, amazing food.
