We were very disappointed and actually voted it the worst meal of our trip. Does that mean we came on a bad night? Maybe. Do we have different expectations, possibly. If I spend nearly $100 on two salads and two entrees I expect a great meal.
My house salad was floppy and soggy. The GF had Kani salad which came out better than mine. For the entre I ordered the Filet and she ordered the Tuna. The Filet was ordered medium rare amd came out grey and overcooked. The Tuna was chewy to the point she took one bite and sent it back. They replaced it with a Filet pretty quickly and this time hers came out very rare. The food seemed to lack any consistency as her veggies were good and mine were mushy. Her steak was undercooked and mine overcooked.
The good- the wait staff was amazing and did absolutely everything to make us happy. They were very attentive and willing to help. Im going to chalk it up to a bad night during off-season.
They also got cool points for acknowledging my friend’s birthday with a complimentary crème brûlée.
The restaurant had outdoor seating in addition to indoor. Not terribly loud.
For a Thai lemonade tea, wonton soup, spring roll, drunken noodles and ice cream, it was $46. Not bad at all.
I’ve heard that the portions could be larger, however, I didn’t experience that since I had courses.
The flavors in all of the dishes worked well together, and were dynamic.
The spring rolls come with 5 units, and are delicious- especially the sweet & spicy dip that comes with it.
The soup’s contents were delicious, and the broth was potent.
The drunken noodles were delicious. I ordered chicken with mine- the protein was cooked and marinated well and the “Hot” spice level. The spice was so beautiful. It added a level of complexity to the rich sauce that’s standard to the noodles.
The tea/lemonade had a unique twang to it that is individual to Thai teas. I enjoyed it.
The hazelnut cognac ice cream was a little too creamy for my taste, I prefer a more icy/sorbet consistency. The taste was subtle, though, which I appreciated. It had a crunch in there that I could take or leave
Our server, Cici, was absolutely amazing. She was very busy and kept check on all her tables and did so with grace and a smile. Never appeared rushed or overwhelmed. Answered questions and even checked on ingredients because of food allergies. We were thankful for her hard work.
We enjoyed our appetizers, entrees, and dessert. We had something from each cuisine style and each chef’s talent. Everything was so delicious, prepared exactly how it should, seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly, presented beautifully. The French entrees will absolutely bring us back to try other menu items. We ate everything on the plate, even the garnish!
I definitely recommend. Bringing together different cuisines, each with its own chef, allows you to escape the normal routine menu items we so often fall into. Try something different for each course or for each visit. I look forward to returning.
There were a couple of small hiccups, my broccoli was unexpectedly cold, but our server handled it gracefully and quickly brought it back nice and hot. My wife had asked for an egg to be added to her meal, and it was initially missed, but once we pointed it out, they promptly fixed it.
For two people—including appetizers, two drinks, and entrées—the total came to almost $100. It felt a little on the higher side, but the food was great, and we don’t mind paying for a good meal. We’ll definitely be back! Support local!
