I’ve been here 4 times now and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh and very flavorful. Specifically the dishes I am going back for are the beef chow fun: an amazing tender thin cut steak with the wide noodles and just the right amount amount of rich sauce. yum!!! Plus their walnut prawns are better than what I am used to in SF Chinatown! Lightly battered and fried to perfection! The shrimp are huge! And so fresh. The fried rice might be the most basic of items but it’s good too.

I drove one hour just to dine in at this restaurant. This is a Huaiyang cuisine style Chinese restaurant. The lion head (steamed pork ball with soup and bok choy) tasted very fresh and delicious, served in a white porcelain bowl with a lion decoration. The spicy chicken is not as spicy as Sichuan style. The chicken comes with some peanuts, both crispy. We also ordered their special sourced duck, a sweet and tender taste that we have never tasted anywhere else in the US.

Our server, Tan Mei Xia, quickly seated us and got our appetizer (pot stickers) ordered. Our next course was a winter melon spare rib soup, followed up by braised pork belly with mustard greens and braised beef stomach over rice. Everything was exceedingly delicious and authentic, and Xia made our night very enjoyable.

I have been this place many times, took friends and family, they all love the food 🙂 Remember asking for the Chinese menu. Our waitress Tang is so sweet since we live far from there, I always order too much food so I have enough left over for few more days, she kept telling me it’s too much! HAHA. We have been going to Sunflower for years now and have had great food and service. When Tan Mei Xia is working she always greets us and gives the best service. She works very hard and makes sure we have plenty to drink. Food is amazing and great portions for the price. We take family and friends there often.
