This diner is a true gem! From the friendly welcome to the cozy, classic atmosphere, everything felt just right. The menu had all the comfort-food favorites, and every bite was delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked.

The service was quick and attentive. Portions were very generous and prices were fair.

If you’re looking for a spot with great food and excellent service, this diner absolutely delivers.

We were in Gatlinburg a few weeks ago, stopped by Sun Dine. What a gem. Lunch/brunch was delicious. Gina our server was fabulous. Design inside was outstanding. Prices were just as great. Make this restaurant a must on your list of new places to try.

We are so glad that we found this incredible breakfast spot in Gatlinburg, TN. It is located next to Jason Aldean’s if anyone needs a point of reference.

We were welcomed in and seated right away. We were then greeted by server Gina. What an incredible spirit she has! So glad that we got her as a server. She was very knowledgeable about what to eat and what would go best with everything.

The amount of food for the price is exactly what we needed to fill our empty stomachs! Great friendly vibe and great atmosphere at the Sun Diner! Stop on by and grab a bite to eat!

Hit this little hidden gem the Monday before Thanksgiving, after walking for an hour trying to find a place to eat breakfast that didn’t have a 1.5 hr waitlist. This diner was mid-way down the main stretch in Gatlinburg, and is easy to miss. Paid parking is around $20 for the day, and there are several lots throughout the city. Not much street parking outside of that. We were in town when everything was at capacity.

Our wait was around 35 minutes. The dining room is an eclectic mix of classic rock decor, with a lot of records and photographs decorating the walls. Seating is unique – there were tables and booths available at the rear of the restaurant, but most seating was barstool seating at U-shaped counters coming off the cooking area, with an aisle up the middle the server waited the table from (a bit like hibachi).

My husband ordered the Meat Lover’s Omelet and I ordered the Let’s Do the Twist French Toast. Our food was cooked and served in a timely manner, was delicious, and the portion size was excellent. We did not have any leftovers. Menu pricing was on the pricey side for us, but seemed lower than the general pricing in the area.

Our server, Gina, was fabulous, funny, engaging and attentive.

My only complaint would be the wait for seating, as the restaurant was only a third full when we arrived – this seemed more to do with lack of wait staff than anything else, and as it was technically the “off” season, this wasn’t exactly unexpected.

Overall, would highly recommend to anyone.

Enjoyed lunch while exploring Gatlinburg. We tried the BLTA and the “Greatest Hits” burger melt. Hith entrees were tasty. Service was great!! Our server Gina was awesome and so personable!! Front of house was welcoming and informative. Would come back because the breakfast menu looks amazing!!

Standard fare, patty melt was fine.

The grits and cheese were a crime against humanity… certainly for a southerner like me. Congealed, cold and inedibly gross…

The vibe of the place is cool but not worth it for me.

Loved my breakfast here! The portions are very big and worth the money. I liked how the seating was set up. It’s down a few doors from pancake pantry and was a great alternative to waiting on that line.

We were told it would be 20-25 minute wait. Only ended up waiting 10 minutes. We love that there are multiple bays (breakfast bars) made service more personalized and server (Gina) was great. Friendly and attentive. We were able to see all the amazing dishes being made. All the food was big portions and looked amazing. Prices were great. Reasonable beyond anywhere else in Gatlinburg. Would definitely return.

We love the Sun Diner. This was our second visit! We were here two years ago and couldn’t wait to come back! Two years we had a great meal too! This year we tried different food & loved it too!

The portions are big so come hungry! The French toast was full of flavor and melt in your mouth delicious! I suggest adding the bacon! The side of sausage biscuit and gravy is enough for a meal! Everything was cooked to perfection and we went on a weekday as soon as they opened- had the place to ourselves.

Our waitress was friendly & attentive! We boxed up the rest of our food to go and she gave us syrup to take with us. If you’re around Nashville Or Gatlinburg make sure you stop in! Wish we could try lunch sometime but the breakfast is crave worthy!

Sat at the bar and had a very enjoyable time. Our server was very friendly and informative, and the food was delicious. The breakfast tacos and quarter platter were filling and watching the cooks make it in a clean and professional way was an added bonus.
