Miserable, elderly host at the front. He’s bad for business, no questions asked. I erroneously sat myself down at the awesome sliding tables that overlook the beach – the sundeck wasn’t busy. I will admit, i completely did not see the sign at the front that said ‘wait to be seated’ again, my error. I did see an elderly gentleman worker at the front, and we made eyes, but I made nothing of it, as the last time I was there, no staff were near, and we sat ourselves also, without issue. The elderly host came up to my brother and I, no hello, and in a very unfriendly manner placed down the menus and angrily said ‘you two clearly missed the sign that said wait to be seated!’ I apologized immediately and said I didn’t see the sign. He said nothing and walked off. I was so excited to be there cause the sun deck bar is awesome, the drinks are great and the view is 10/10, but he sure did put a downer on the moment. I said to my brother ‘do you want to leave?’ cause I was ready to, and he said leave it be. The server we ended up having was lovely, the drinks were so good, and again, the view is amazing. I will come back here time and time again, but the elderly host really was a downer and kind of ruined the moment. I was excited to bring my brother there as he’s never been there before, but the man really ruined it for us. The table behind us also had some kind of encounter with him as my brother said he could see the host being grumpy and unfriendly, and aggressive with the menus. I can only imagine this great establishment knows of this mean, ol’ grumpy server and I’m sure it’s not his first complaint. Aside from that, great spot and a must to visit.

Food is your average simple fried dishes. I had the fried shrimp and it was good! The view is beautiful during the day and for sunset. You do have to go early and reserve if you want to sit at one of the outer swing tables. Those have the best views. Be prepared for people from the inner table to come take sunset pictures while you eat tho lol. They should open up an area for that at the very end of the restaurant. Staff is super attentive and accommodating. Vibe is fun and relaxing.

We ate at the Sun Deck restaurant at Lani Kai yesterday. I ordered the Prime Rib sandwich and asked it I could get it rare. The waitress said yes. It arrive so overdone that it was like cardboard. I let the waitress know and she said she would talk the the manager. She then informed me that it only comes one way (medium well) for the sandwich. If I ordered the steak instead of the sandwich I could have gotten it rare.
I said, why did you not tell me that when I ordered the sandwich rare? She said she did not know. I said “I can’t eat this. She did not give me anything different and did not take it off the bill. I tried 2 bites of the sandwich. I told her I was very disappointed. Oh well. I am a local. I won’t eat there again.

My family and I had a very pleasant experience at Lanai kai. The view was amazing and a must see if you have never been out to dine on the roof top. Danielle our waitress was awesome. She kept our drinks filled and made sure we had everything needed for our meal. She was very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we will come back again. We definetly will.

Went to get something quick to eat and see what the atmosphere was like. The hostess was nice and employees seemed happy so that always sets a good tone. Had a burger and chicken tenders which were actually amazing! Highlight of the experience was my server Danielle who was very on point with what I needed and her other tables loved her as well, she brings a very bubbly and welcoming personality and makes you comfortable which always brings customers like me back ! Will be bringing my friends next time, thankyou !

The prime rib was excellent even though Island view restaurant was closed. We got forced to the bar but I can tell you their bartender couldn’t have been more rude, I asked her twice, really Wouldn’t even give me dinner napkins even though I ordered food with my drinks. She stated it’s only for food. Her name is Jennifer Vicky couldn’t have been nicer. Give me dinner napkins, it’s napkins for god sakes

Erin was our server tonight on our 12th anniversary. Im so happy that we chose the Sundeck because she made our night so special. She has the best attitude and made amazing recommendations for the prime rib dinner and ahi tuna. Caesar salads and boom boom shrimp were also great. We will be back and ask for her specifically! Thank you.
