The experience was nice. The manager seemed a bit aloof, but maybe he is trying to build an elite type of stigma? But the servers were super nice and nice and super friendly.
The food was beautiful and flavorful. The drinks were unique and matched the energy of the dishes.

Sun Chong was recommended to me and my friends, and I can honestly say it was a great recommendation!! The entire experience was really nice! The atmosphere is very beautiful, simple, elegant, a hint of fusion, and very chill! The food is absolutely next level, I really don’t think you could order a bad item from this menu! The service was absolutely fantastic! We sat at the bar and the bartender was super attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, and cool as hell! The one thing that I wasn’t a fan of was the inability to provide separate checks. There were three of us and our checks got lumped in together (which isn’t an issue), but they couldn’t be separated and we couldn’t pay for what we had individually, the tab had to be split exactly three ways. That’s nothing that would stop me from coming back, it was just unexpected. If you are in New Orleans you should absolutely stop by Sun Chong!!

Me and my boyfriend went here because I had seen it all over TikTok. I was very excited to try it out. The service was great! Our server recommended great options for appetizers, drinks and our main entree. We each got a cocktail, I got the dragon fruit martini with gin and it was amazing! My boyfriend got the I love you cocktail and it was great too! We got the gumbo soup dumplings, fried chicken and bulgogi. They were all incredible! The fried chicken was simple but still sooo good. The Bulgogi was sweet and savory and we finished the whole plate! It came with rice and a salad and the salad dressing was soy sauce and ginger and it was also fantastic! Very impressed with the food and atmosphere! Super fun date night spot!

The food and service were both incredible. Huge shout out to our waiter Oowauwe on being so informative with great details on all of the dishes 10/10 service. As far as the food, we had the crab rangoon dip, Korean styled wings, and the crawfish fried rice. All were amazing and tasty. The quality was definitely there. Will be back for sure before I leave NOLA to try some other dishes (the house special soup described by our waiter sounded hearty and delicious).

The food was amazing!! Beautiful restaurant, drinks were bomb, music was super good, and our waiter Cyrill was amazing!! He was so nice, personable, and very knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant and the food. My boyfriend and I were very impressed. We met the owner and she was super sweet. 10/10!! We visited Sun Chong during our recent visit and I have to say while the dishes were delicious, I don’t know if I would consider them fusion dishes. It seemed like a straight forward Korean or creole dish with a dusting of the other. Some were just straight Korean food like the kimbap or the bulgogi with no creole fusion or flair. That said for the prices seemed a bit steep for some of the dishes. For example the kimbap should not cost $17. I will say the dishes that were 100% worth it are the yum yum ribs, lobster pasta and the sun Chong chicken. The dumplings were also a miss as they were mostly skin and not enough filling.
The service on the other hand deserves a 5 star on its own! The wait staff were amazing, prompt and very engaging with us! Good service always makes the experience! The restaurant was very packed considering the time and the drinks came out fast and the food was not far behind!
The restaurant is great for an intimate vibe and having gone in a larger group not as ideal as it was kind of loud inside.
Regardless the food was delicious whether they nailed the fusion or not so highly recommend!

Sun Chong was exactly what we needed on a cold New Orleans day—warm, cozy, and intimate with absolutely top-tier food and service. The space is small but thoughtfully done, which only adds to the experience.
We ordered the dumbo dumplings, yum yum fried ribs, and Nemo fried chicken—every dish hit. Full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care. The matcha cheesecake was the perfect finish, not too sweet and incredibly smooth.
Also had an espresso martini that was spot-on and well-balanced. Service was attentive without being overbearing.

Thank you Sun Chong for making Friday night a memorable success. Our server, We, was on point with the menu suggestions, professionalism, and kindness. It really does make a difference. The kitchen turned out deliciously creative food. The Gumbo Dumplings and Pork Baco were unique and very tasty. The main courses of Neno Fried Chicken and Kimchi Lobster Pasta were seasoned and cooked perfectly. See you all soon.

Friday lunch date! Street parking was full but luckily there’s a paid parking lot right next to the W hotel which is a 2 minute walk to the restaurant. Inside is really small but nicely decorated with an Asian flair. Now the outside weather was a little cool which made inside COLD! The AC was blasting! My poor hubby had bumps on his arms. The music was a nice hip hop mix. The service seamed a bit slow. Outside of that we enjoyed. We started with the crab Rangoon dip. This was decent. It was hot, fresh, and straight out of the oven. The chips were really good. The sweet chili sauce was a nice complement. I felt the crab dip was a bit dry. It should’ve been cheesier. I had a Lychee Dragonfruit mocktail and this was delicious! Nice and sweet. My husband had the Honey Hennessy drink and he enjoyed it. For entrees we had the fried chicken with crawfish rice and the glazed salmon dish. Both meals were good but the crawfish rice stole the show! The salmon was cooked perfectly, a slight crisp on the top with a slight sweet touch. The fried chicken was seasoned just right and fried crispy. I would definitely return to try other items.

I had such a great experience at Sun Chong. The flavor profiles were so unique and incredibly flavorful. Everything felt so creative and thoughtfully put together, which made the meal really stand out. My bartender did an amazing job describing and recommending the dishes, and they truly sold me on what to order. Everything she suggested did not disappoint.
