My wife and I felt like trying something new, so we opted for Sumoboy. The clear soup was flavorful. The chicken katsu i ordered was crispy and saucy. My wife enjoyed her bento box but thought there was a bit too much teryaki sauce, and some of the chicken chunks were a little tough. We were the only ones in the restaurant the entire time, so hopefully it was just an off time for them.

I’ve been eating here for roughly 10 years now, still some of the best sushi I’ve ever had in the entire region Being a sushi snob I also realize that they have the best rice consistency I’ve had in the greater northeast Ohio region.
So many times in many other sushi places that are common to this area the rice is slightly hard and subpar but sumo boy has always had the best sushi rice I’ve ever had.
Their lunch special is still the best bang for your buck for sushi in the entire area, especially considering the quality.
The biggest thing to be aware of is that they are struggling to hire people to keep the small business going. I know I saw a couple reviews on them that talked about bad customer service. This is mostly due to the extreme high levels of stress they’ve been dealing with running the business with basically two people for almost two entire years.

The reviews and news articles said this is the best teriyaki and sushi outside Japan. What a load of BS. Worst teriyaki I’ve ever had. The chicken was hard, the sauce was practically brown colored sugar gloop, and the vegetables were very clearly out of a can. To boot they used Chinese vegetables and claimed it was authentic Japanese teriyaki. Mall teriyaki and grocery store sushi are better than here. We couldnt stomach more than two bites before ordering pizza. I’ve been to Japan and this stuff is an insult to what we ate over there.

Stopped in today for udon soup and yellowtail roll. The food was delicious, the restaurant was clean and well decorated, and the owner was very friendly and personable! I had a great time and will definitely be back!

Ordering online was super easy, they called me to confirm my order because I have an out of state phone number to make sure I knew where they were located. The food was fantastic. We got the teriyaki chicken, sesame chicken and crab rangoons. Prices and meal portions are great. Customer service was great. Will definitely be a repeat customer

This place is an local institution, I hope they never close. I had my first rolls from here and have since had sushi in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Atlanta and a dozen other big cities and small, they are my absolute favorite. The quality is never in question, they are always fast, and the prices are amazing. I hope you guys never close. I have missed having the dinning room open but that doesn’t change how amazing the food is!
