Good food, not fantastic but it’s good. The best part of this place is the atmosphere, made me feel like I was back in Japan! I recommend trying it out.

We ordered California rolls, veggie tempura rolls, edamame, poke bowl and yakisoba for takeout. It was all so delicious! The atmosphere in the restaurant was also so nice. This was a great spot!

This place is really good. I moved out here recently and was skeptical as to whether I’d find a good Japanese restaurant with good sushi. The first time around, I went to an awful place where the food had no taste (Sam’s Club nearby has better sushi). The sushi at Sumo was really good. The flavors and presentation were just right. The waiter was very friendly and the food came out fast given how busy it was. I’m definitely coming back here.

Cozy little spot with great sushi. I loved that they kept it simple and didn’t cover the rolls in sauces. The chicken teriyaki bowl was good. I liked the Alaska roll a lot. The service was excellent and the waitress was super nice.

Very good experience. Small quiet atmosphere that reminded me of a place I liked in Hawaii on the big Island.

This place was overall ok. They could improve the inside decor and add more tables. The crab rangoons are very good. I love that they are in a thin and crispy pastry. Service was very good.

Once again hole in the wall shops stand up to the hype of having great food and great service! We ordered the seaweed salad, 2x sushi combo 1, 2x kids sushi meal, rainbow roll, and just about all the desserts. We washed the sushi and sashimi with warm sake! The fish did not leave any aftertastes and gave a really refreshing feel going down! The texture was soft but still firm enough to show the good quality of the fish. The meals came out very quickly and the service was just as quick and tentative. Would definitely recommend all to come and eat at Sumo Japanese Kitchen!

Wow. Mind-blowing experience. We started our trip here and everything since has been a disappointment in comparison to this place. The spring rolls are the best you’ll ever have. The sushi rolls could not have been better in any way. The mochi ice cream was just the cherry on top. Please go here. Please.

Very good Japanese food for the area. Had the Chicken Katsu Don Bowl and Gyoza. It tasted fantastic, probably my favorite gyoza in the area after having tried the ones at Ichiban and Fuji. The rice bowl I had was great and very filling with lots of rice and chicken. My only issue is the pricing (just over $30 for my two foods and a soda, not counting tip), but that’s not that big of an issue since I know running a Japanese restaurant/sushi bar in the Midwest, as far as you can get from an ocean, probably isn’t the cheapest lol.
