We tried Sumo and had a great experience! The nigiri was beautifully presented and very fresh. The signature rolls were delicious and well-balanced.
We also ordered the teriyaki salmon and steak — salmon was great, and the steak was good quality (just a bit overcooked for our preference). The fried udon was tasty and comforting.
The décor is cute and very clean with a bright, modern vibe. Great value for the price — we left so full and will definitely be back!

The food was well worth the wait. We ordered the sushi appetizers, stir-fried udon, sashimi, salmon skin hand roll, and the Sumo roll. We enjoyed everything and will definitely be back!

I had an amazing experience at Sumo Sushi. The food was fresh, flavorful, and came out quickly, but what really stood out was the service. Our server went above and beyond even though he was juggling everything at once — bussing tables, running food, taking orders, making recommendations, and even helping prepare dishes. Despite all that, he stayed patient, friendly, and incredibly accommodating the entire time. It’s rare to see someone handle that much with such professionalism, and it made the whole meal feel even better. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in STL.

When I was walking on the Delmar to looking for something to eat with my friend that I found Sumo is grand opening today. The sushi rolls quality are good, and the sashimi are thick cut. It tastes so creamy and tasty. It’s a good AYCE choice place on Delmar.

Stopped by for AYCE sushi because I saw this place had opened up on social media. I’ve frequented many other AYCE restaurants and am used to the chefs packing on the rice, but this is the first place I’ve been that has packed on the rice while also giving you a sliver of fish. This persisted even after asking for less rice, and if anything, it seemed like they doubled down and gave even more rice. The waiter said, “it’s better than Sushi Ai though, right?”, which was wrong. To top it off, it felt like the entire restaurant was waiting to eat with ~20-30 minutes in between AYCE orders. Would avoid this spot.
