My mochi, chicken katsu and yakitori all tasted very good especially the first two.
The portion of the main dish was big and the prices were average. Friendly and attentive waiters and also got a free sake on the house as it was my bday
As of Autumn 2018, both the team [still Chinese] and the concept [now all-you-have-the-time-to-order-and-eat worldish Japanese] turn out to be quite promising, as opposed to the rundown “su chow” pigstall this address was intoxicating local office workers for over a decade .
Successful facade/interior/identity makeover.
Today, it’s actually an inspiring and [still] affordable Asian working lunch option for the area south of the Central train station, costing 14.50€.
Panasian warm starters (miso soup, skewers, chicken wings, etc), sushi, [uncanned basic] desserts and sashimi [for 2€ more/serving] made to order. And your order is to be punched in on surprisingly clean tablet (App in English or Mandarin).
Infinitely cleaner interiortoilets and much more sympathetic staff than what this place used to be.
If the two miniscule parking spots between the pavement and the facade are [obviously] taken, it’s most convenient to park just across the road, at the TOTAL petrol station, or at the banking cluster ATMs up that same Thionville road. Besides, the location is conveniently endowed with a bus stop a stone’s throw away — towards these ATMs and the ELEPHANT pharmacy.
❎ This being said, the business lunch experience is short of the five stars as:
❎ it took TOO long for the initial order to be served, so do order copiously for your first tablet run, if you are short on lunchtime
❎ location literally on the City’s outskirts and a 15 minutes trip from the centre [yet fine as long as you spend the rest of your afternoon in Howald/Hesperange]
❎ obnoxious house wine, worse than the mainstay measly average in other Asian eateries: either go for some bottle, or abstain
❎ no Wi-Fi
↓ the irreversible curse of the preceding piggery of a Chinese “restaurant”
I highly recommend it
Would recommend ordering by tablet as staff don’t immediately make it obvious that is an option.
