Fun Chaser
I had not been here for a while because I didn’t like the food last time I visited. Today I was passing by and I decided to try again. Quality of food seemed to improve. The temperature of the food was good. Sushi section is OK but Chinese food section is very good. There was Cajun shrimp and it was so good. I don’t remember seeing it last time. I would come just for this. This and Chinese food only are worth coming. The lunch price was only 19.99. They offer 4 different flavor ice creams but they were too soft. I found the chocolate fountain too which I didn’t know before. It is probably because it was hidden in the corner. Overall, I enjoyed the food very much. I will come back for sure.

I don’t know how this place went downhill so fast but I recently visited for dinner and the food was terrible. Out of everything I put on my plate I was only able to stomach the fried rice and orange chicken. Everything else lacked flavor or tasted nasty. That’s not even the worst part of my visit. While at the buffet line, I heard a hawking noise. I wish I never looked up. Right in the kitchen was one of the kitchen staff spitting out a very visible lugie. Where it landed, I’m not sure but it was super gross. Ugghhhh! That alone tells me this will be my last visit there. Besides that, the staff were nice and the atmosphere was peaceful.

The verdict from the review is:
> The Verdict: Go for Variety and Value
> Sumo Asian Buffet is a fantastic choice when you have a mixed group with different cravings, or when you are simply looking for maximum variety for a fixed price. It excels at being a fun, accessible dining experience where everyone leaves full. Just remember that the highest quality items are usually found at the made-to-order stations, and plan your visit for busy times to ensure the freshest buffet rotation.
> Must-Try: The Hibachi Grill and any seasonal seafood available.
> Tip: Check local pricing, as dinner and weekend rates are substantially higher than weekday lunch.

I like their variety of vegetable dishes, cooked, steamed, broiled fish choices. Sushi bar also is no different than sushi restaurants. So all in all, pretty good for group with varied tastes. I was there yesterday 2/6/26, and the food never disappoints. Their sweet and sour soup was great. However, the service, while getting better than before, needs to improve. When we were greeted, and asked how many? I replied “Two seniors”. But the lunch bill came as two adults. And they asked to show our IDs for proof, and we did. The waiter went to do the price correction, but came back and said it was too late. That totally ruined our experience as the bill for two seniors’ lunch was $45!
So their service really sucks.

Food okay at best. Low selection, Squid sushi is on point, fully grilled Sardine was fire. Octopus dishes both solid, Creole Shrimp okay.

Massive point reduction as well for Chemical Hazards being near Utensils The insane disregard for safety ruins this place. If it happens like this at the front counter image what happens in back. Glad I didn’t try MUCH Chicken.

The fried Wing I had was dangerously undercooked as well, pink and in places Red inside.

No disposable gloves provided for patrons handling tongs on buffet. As soon as this place does better I’ll update the review. Eat elsewhere Champs.

This is one of the few great buffet restaurant left in LA. Vegas style without the high price. The variety of foods is amazing and very affordable! Great for bringing family and friends. Check out our video review @TripoutwithSadieandRandThom

This all you can eat Asian buffet been out there in the corner of Victory and Ovensmouth Ave as long as I remember while almost all businesses around it have been gone out of business or sold. It’s a favorite spot for local foodies. More options on weekends and more expensive as well. To discover more, follow our instagram @gemislist

I recently dined here, and while the buffet price was a bit on the expensive side, the experience was well worth it. This hibachi-style restaurant offers a great variety of dishes, all fresh and flavorful. The hibachi station was a highlight, with chefs preparing dishes to perfection. I loved the diverse options, which ranged from sushi to traditional Asian-inspired dishes, catering to many tastes.

The dessert section was a pleasant surprise, especially the tart, it had a perfect balance of sweetness and texture, leaving a memorable finish to the meal. The service was attentive, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming and lively. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for quality and variety, Sumo Asian Buffet & Grill is definitely worth a visit!

The food was not good. I arrived for lunch right when they opened and nothing seemed freshed. The food was less than mediocre. The ambiance, decor and smell of the place was terrible. There were a lot of customers coming in who appeared to be regulars (a lot of elderly people). I would never eat here again. I felt like I was trapped in time in a tasteless place. Sorry, it just wasn’t to my liking. I left feeling disappointed that I wasted a meal and money here. I’ve had MUCH better quality all around:(

There is plenty of seating, so you’ll have a very short wait 7-10 minutes max.

Super friendly staff and very helpful.

The sushi bar had just about every kind you can think of.

The seafood section and dessert section had plenty of options.

The parking lot is free and massive.

If you do have mobility devices, don’t worry because both the tables and buffet area have enough space to allow for wheelchair or walkers to easily maneuver around.
