I used to come here all the time back when it was Cookie’s Canteen. The restaurant feels much bigger and brighter than it did back then. It was very clean when we went here for breakfast on Christmas Eve Sunday. Relaxed atmosphere, other patrons casually enjoying their breakfast and coffee, no sense of being rushed.
The menu pricing is pretty good. The pancakes are huge and there’s a pancake eating challenge. I had the sausage gravy on biscuits – it was really good. And my husband had chipped beef on homemade rye bread. He loved it. The food came out fast and warm. No complaints here.

Good food with fast & friendly service. The menu is classic diner fare. We were in town for the day and had breakfast and lunch here. It’s easy to find on Main Street across from the courthouse. The food was good, prices were decent and staff was friendly.
