Perfect lunch! I ordered the catfish tacos! Mouth watering and the sliced radish and fried okra added a great flavor and crunch. Best bite was the pork stuffed jalapeños popper! Definitely wishing we lived closer to enjoy this restaurant weekly! Donna was the perfect waitress! Bonus great view of the mountains and city.

I went with my family for late lunch around 4pm. First time visiting, so I didn’t know they don’t have in table service but it was pretty great. We placed our order at the entrance, sat, and a server brought everything to the table. Food was ready within 10 minutes maybe even less than that. Great flavor. The meat from the ribs came off the bone so easily. So tasteful. The wait staff was great, attentive. Portions are okay. Wil visit again on my next visit to Chattanooga.

Very casual place. Good BBQ, multiple sauce choices. Order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Service was quick. Staff was friendly. Refill your own drinks. Outdoor covered balcony with a view of the city. Can heat quite a bit of highway traffic noise from the balcony. Don’t forget to feed the goats.

I had the half rack of ribs and the slaw. The ribs were very good, although some of them still had the membrane on them. They were well seasoned and fall off the bone tender. The slaw was done with a heavy vinegar sugar mixture that was delicious. The wife ordered the catfish tacos and the jalapeño poppers. The poppers were excellent and a new recipe I will try at home after this visit. She said the catfish tacos were delicious. This is a great stop.

Feeding the goats was the best and only good part. The food is neither good or bad just mediocre at best. I had the brisket sandwich with turnip greens and MAC with a cornbread muffin on side. I added the ribs for $10 on any order. Brisket is okay (get the slaw to the side), I opted for the sandwich because other reviews said the quantity for the money would be better, none of the sauces made sense for the BBQ and were watered down. MAC is the soupy version with cheese melted on top, greens were okay. Ribs were full of cartilage, taste decent. Sausage tasted like an Italian sausage and was not good. The prices for the sides are high, bag of chips usually 50cents is $3.25. Overall not a place I would recommend and seriously doubt they would get business if their location was less flashy and seen so easily. The service saves whatever hope this place has to keep their doors open.

Most of my food was great. The chicken in my chicken tacos was over cooked but the ribs, pinto beans, smoked okra, and Mac and cheese were great. If you’re a gooey Mac and cheese person, you will like Sugars’. Outdoor seating was pretty cool. Just be prepared that if you’re there at sunset, you’ll be blinded for a little bit. The view over Chattanooga and surrounding mountains is beautiful. We didn’t spend much time inside so I can speak to that. Our waitress was extremity attentive and friendly. Cabbage was available to feed the goats which our two year of loved getting to do! If we find ourselves back in Chattanooga, we’ll make another stop here. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews recently. It’s worth a stop.

So glad we stopped at Sugar’s Ribs… initially it was just to see the goats… but we decided to try the food. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, the brisket was no-sauce-needed flavorful and the mac-n-cheese was creamy and delectable. Then there were the surprise pickles. Yum!

This restaurant was wonderful yet again. We had a party of seven this time – 4 adults and 3 kids. We stopped for lunch on a weekday. There was no wait, the service was great, and the food was delicious. Everyone was able to find something they enjoyed.
