I am not a fan of seafood so I ordered the edamame and cucumber roll. Those were the only options, but both delicious. Those that I was with ordered the Trust Me, and said it’s the best sushi they’ve ever had. They crave this place. Definitely recommend for those that love raw fish and I really wish they would have a few more options for those who don’t.

I tried the “Don’t think. Just eat. Trust me” sushi set and it was surprisingly the perfect amount – I didn’t expect to be full after, but I was.

I dined in during the hurricane/earthquake event this week. Atmosphere of restaurant is very nice. The noise level was perfect, creating a very balanced ambience. Staff was nice, helpful, and friendly and quick. Everything I needed was anticipated or arrived quickly. Shared a plate with my wife and added some limited items as well. Really hit the spot. But keep in mind, here is quality over quantity.

Never been there before! My 13 year old son suggested we go because he had been there before with his mum. I wanted to do something special for him, so off we went.

Great food and great service as always. I’ve been to other locations but first time to this one. Not thrilled with the parking here since they don’t have their own lot. Centrally located around heavy traffic areas. If you order the monkfish liver, ask for the sauce on the side…it just takes away from the natural flavor.

Not sure if it was just this location but I usually love Sugarfish. This experience was not what I remember. We ordered the Don’t Think Just Eat, and a few pieces of the nigiri and the sashimi starter had a ponzu type sauce on it and they drowned those dishes in sauce. Too much. The rice was falling apart under all of the nigiri we received which made it hard to eat with chopsticks. The service was strange in that I was there dining with my husband and instead of bringing out our courses at the same time…one person would bring my dish and then a minute or two later another person would bring his dish. There were more staff than there were tables seated but it was hard to get anyone’s attention when we were ready for the bill.

The most exquisite place I have been to L.A. went with some work friends for a reward dinner. It is an experience. Definitely need to go at least once in your life. I am now looking for any reason to go! Great service. Quality fish! Get Street Parking. Be informed with the menu!

The sushi was good…not amazing but good. We ordered the DON’T THINK JUST EAT plate, and it was kind of neat to have the chef choose our items for us, making everything we received a surprise. Prices were reasonable, and the service was good. This restaurant has a “no tipping policy” but they do add 16% to your bill which is way less than what i would have tipped, so win for me! They must pay their employees a decent wage. This isn’t your “American Traditional ” sushi spot, so if you are in the neighborhood, check it out.

This is definitely on the expensive side for me and not personally my favorite kind of place, but you really get a pretty great experience for your money at Sugarfish. My friends were very happy with their sushi (on the Trust Me menu) and we all felt it was some of the best sushi we have ever had. The sake was a reasonable price as well and the service is pretty great/wonderful ambience all around. Definitely a great venue for a nice night out.

Definitively average. Sugarfish came highly recommended to us by some local friends. I’m not sure if this was just a bad day, but the entire experience was underwhelming. The service began poorly and went downhill from there. Despite more servers than customers in the restaurant, we waited a considerable amount of time to order to begin with. The sushi was decent, but certainly not the best I’ve ever had. They bring all orders out piece mail, which is ok until they forget things. I had to approach an employee after waiting 10 minutes after the rest of us were done for two rolls my daughter ordered and having bone dry water glasses. The employee was indignant that I bothered her private conversation with another employee as they both hid in a corner rather than ensuring guests were taken care of. Then another employee had to come ask again about the forgotten rolls. It is clear why they include the tip on the bill despite the party size…they likely wouldn’t receive a tip otherwise. I do not recommend.
