We went at a good time. Walked-in, and was seated right away!
As a first timer, my husband and I ordered the ‘Trust Me’ omakase. Usually, I am hesitant of the amount of sushi I would have to eat. But this was probably one of the best portions/courses! I didn’t have to loosen my belt not unbutton my pants
We were fortunate that we arrived early (6 pm) and had no wait whatsoever. By the time we left an hour later, the waiting area was full and the wait time seemed long.
We had a very pleasant meal and great service from our server. During the shift change, however, a female manager I didn’t recognize (may be new to the location) approached us and said that outside food wasn’t allowed. I explained that I had asked for permission beforehand, but the interaction felt abrupt and dismissive, which was disappointing.
I still think this is the best-tasting Sugarfish location and normally love coming here, but that moment put a damper on what was meant to be a celebratory meal. I hope there can be better communication among staff, and the return of the regular male manager, so situations like this don’t happen in the future.
