Sausage oozing out PUS. Not cheese. Pus with a rancid taste. Salmon dry. Pulled pork good. Baked beans good. Fry bags half way filled with over cooked crunchy hard pieces the last couple batches fried in old grease. Chicken tenders had stretchy rubbery tendon cords my littles couldn’t eat. Service was great nice staff. The food was just a waste of money. 5 star service. 1 star food 🙁

I used to spend a few thousand dollars a year here and literally came at least once a week. The people are always very kind, the wings are amazing but the brisket the last 5-6 times I have ordered it is fatty and roast like. Even when I ask for it to be sliced lean it doesn’t turn out. I’m not sure if they switched suppliers or lowered their standards or both. I am from Texas and this was the only BBQ in the area that I like but I will think twice before spending $29.98 for a pound of brisket only.

Everything was tasty and quality. They had 6 sauces on the table. I can speak to 5. Signature sauce is 9, white sauce a solid 7 mustard 5 and the “Texas Hot” was a 6 on flavor it should have been called “Texas Lukewarm.” It was not hot at all.

I had a taste for good BBQ today and I googled online for the best rated BBQ spots near my hotel, Sugarfire BBQ had the top guests reviews and high ratings on their menu, so I thought to give it a try. The prices are affordable but can be more expensive depending on what you choose. I love the taste of good smoked meat without the sauce, I ordered the three meat platter with two sides(potato salad, baked beans) and the pork belly hush puppies, dessert and drink, all together is a nice meal. When my order arrived I anticipated a knockout aroma of smoked grilled meat and charred grilled flavor. The meat was nestled in a pan covered tightly, I expected large portions and it was nice. Not overly sauced and mildly seasoned, I missed the charred grilled marks on the meat but it had the smoked flavor, the ribs, turkey, sausage were okay, I expected better, the brisket and pulled pork were nicely cooked and mild flavored. I was really looking forward to the pork belly hush puppies, the name alone is tantalizing, but it was a huge disappointment, they were fried in high heat and too dark and hard on the outside and the cornbread filling was undercooked in several of the “puppies” and no pork belly to be found, if it’s in there, it’s very very little. The dipping sauce that is served with it is delicious, I really wished it I could have enjoyed them. The side of baked beans were flavorful and smoky , kind of different from traditional baked beans but good. Also the side of potato salad was good too. I liked the homemade taste. For my dessert choice, pecan pie. The restaurant says the desserts are house made and it was delicious. Altogether I wished I got my money’s worth, maybe my experience would be better if I dined inside of the restaurant. It’s worth trying if you are in the area and want a decent BBQ meal.

A happy surprise find for our day date. The smoked salmon was delicious. My husband had the smoked turkey & pulled pork. We loved all the BBQ sauce choices.
The ladies at the register were very helpful & happy to help.
Price was decent for 2 people.

Ordered takeout , the brisket with cheese , onions and au jus. With Mac n cheese. It was the nastiest food I’ve ever ordered. Dried out brisket with a bunch of raw onions, a little dried out cheese, the bun was so soggy u couldn’t even pick it up . Fell into pieces with dried out brisket and raw onions. Did not even try the Mac n cheese looked liked something out of a can . I live off Bryan Road always drive to K for carry out definitely will continue

Placed a dine in order at 8:30 and they brought it to me in take out boxes – clearly wanting me to leave. If you don’t want people to sit and enjoy their meal, close the kitchen at 8 and the restaurant at 9. After a $50 order, I was finishing my beer around 9:06 and an employee reminded me they closed at 9. Extremely ungrateful for my business and disrespectful. Won’t return. Won’t recommend.

After trying many other BBQ places around the metro, Sugarfire as a franchise is… okay!
This was the first BBQ place I went to before moving to Missouri back in 2019. Fast forward to 2024 and I will say now that it’s *good*, but definitely I’ve had better! The ribs were a little dry and salty and definitely needed the BBQ sauce on the table to save the moisture. I most certainly enjoyed the T-Ravs and the Fried Green Tomatoes. Very refreshing and crunchy especially paired with the lemon aioli and marinara sauce.
Coleslaw, great. Potato Salad, heavy on the mustardy side, sorta like Dierbergs Potato Salad. If you do like it like that, definitely recommend! Overall, it was okay.

We live near Kansas City and have been wanting to try Sugarfire. It did not disappoint. I had the Big Muddy, broccoli salad, and Hush puppies. My wife had the turkey sandwich. All of it was delicious. The staff was very friendly and the casual atmosphere was great.
