I have been craving sugar cookies lately, and a few people recommended going to Sugar and Slice. I have been here many times before (I have a horrible sweet tooth)- the staff is always excellent, and the treats are delicious. I am actually surprised I never noticed the sugar cookies before, so I am glad someone mentioned them. The girl helping me check out (I believe her name was Leah – hope I am spelling that correctly) was so friendly and very sweet. I ended up with one Thanksgiving and one Christmas sugar cookie – both looked and tasted amazing! It was the perfect evening snack with my evening coffee.
I look forward to many future visits. I highly recommend Sugar and Slice to anyone looking for delicious baked goods and friendly service.

Highly recommend Sugar & Slice Bakery on Main for all your wedding dessert needs! Our cake was beautiful (each tier was a different flavor!), and our guests raved about the dessert bar! All of our desserts were gone in literally minutes!! They also made my husband’s grooms cake, and it turned out perfect from just the few inspiration photos I shared! Super easy to work with and incredibly reliable!

I loved this cute little shop! They had a lot of cookie options and gluten free macaroons. They also have coffee options too. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly too. Loved the macaroons and of course I had to get a Harry Potter cookie which was very very good. The size of the cookies were so big! 4 people could share. Haha..st charles is super cute downtown and love all of the bakeries there but I focused on this one because of the macaroon options! And they did not disappoint.

Sugar n’ Slice is a Lil’ Slice of Heaven
Despite numerous visits to Sugar n’ Slice, I am still continually impressed by the pastries that I get within each visit. On this latest trip, I dared to try their jalepeno popper scone despite scones usually being my last pick out of normal bakery options. But after I took my first bite into the jalepeno popper scone, my eyes popped out of my head like a Loony Tunes character who just saw the love of their life. This jalepeno popper scone was literally the best scone I’ve ever had, and I’m always a sweets over savory guy which makes this even stranger coming from me.
jalepeno popper scone > cinnamon roll > hot fudge sundae cupcake > cookie dough macaron > peanut butter chocolate M&M cheesecake & brownie > gooey butter cake macaron
Honestly all of these items and all of the other things I’ve tried at Sugar n’ Slice are fantastic, and I can’t say that anything I’ve had here hasn’t been a heavenly experience.

We visited from Ohio, and I can say we had exceptional service from Courtney and Molly. They prepared our cookies so we could share them with our friends at our air bnb and believe me when I say, they are SO good! My favorites are the pink velvet and the pb cookie sandwich. There was a special on the regular cookies too.

Upon walking into the shop, you can’t help but feel almost a nostalgic sense of movie magic. The place is decorated so cute, the staff is super friendly and helpful.
The Fluffernutter is an absolute must try.
Cookie sandwiches are a bit too sugary for me but the flavor is good. The bars are their best feature, although I still have yet to try their cinnamon rolls and cheesecake. They have a good selection to choose from and things are usually well stocked.
Prices aren’t outrageous and the portion sizes are good.
However, the only critiques I have is everything is very sweet and the macaron I had was a bit dry and brittle. But overall, a good stop for sweets if you’re in the area.

This place is amazing! I spend almost a hour to be there, but I dont care. The best cheescakes ever in the whole Midwest. My favorite one is The Blueberry Cheesecake, but I cant stop thinking about the Peanut Butter cheesecake as well. Trust in me!

Have been a customer of this bakery from before they even had a storefront and were just selling via Facebook. Flavors and quality have declined in the last few years as has the service since they’ve gotten more popular. This particular day, the bakery items were ok. Nothing amazing, but good enough to satisfy what I was looking for. In the last few years, everything I’ve tried from here is overly sweet and tastes like nothing but sugar, rather than the true flavors of whatever pastry it may be.
However, the real issue this time was the service. The store was empty, but there were about 5 or 6 teenagers standing behind the counter “working.” When I entered the bakery, they all began applauding, but said nothing afterwards. It was very uncomfortable. They then proceeded to tell me that I was their “1000th customer.” I was at a loss for words and so incredibly uncomfortable. My husband was a little bit behind me and said that if he would have gone in first and saw them clapping, he would have turned around and left and not given them our money. Not quite sure what they wanted me to say or react to, but it was obviously some kind of joke they were doing. Maybe it was because I am in my early twenties and seemed younger to them so they could prank me and not get an adverse reaction, I am truly not sure what was going on. They did give me a free item because they “felt bad”……??? Again, very obvious that they had decided to prank/mess with/gang up on a customer. I pretended to browse and got out of there as fast as I could. All in all, the whole experience was incredibly uncomfortable and almost felt like I was being bullied. Extremely disappointed that this is how the staff treats customers.

Sugar and Slice made a wonderful, reasonably priced cake for my husband and my reception last month! We gave them three photos of cakes we liked and they combined them into a masterpiece! They also helped us pick out delicious gluten free macarons for our gluten intolerant guests. They created little signs for them too, so our guests would know the flavors . It all tasted so delicious! Our family and friends were raving! Thank you all so much for you patience in working with us while we were across the country. You guys are awesome!
